Booker T Confirms He Trained Travis Scott and Reveals Why WWE Run Fell Apart

Booker T just cleared up one of the biggest questions surrounding Travis Scott’s WWE run. The WWE Hall of Famer confirmed he personally trained the rapper at Reality of Wrestling, and according to Booker, Travis actually had what it took to wrestle — the problem was finding enough time to make it happen.

During the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker was asked about The Rock previously revealing that Travis Scott was training with him. Booker didn’t dodge the question and confirmed they worked together, while also pointing out that Scott had previously filmed his “4×4” music video inside the Reality of Wrestling ring.

“Yeah. You know, that’s all. I mean, I’m not going to come and say, you know, yeah, I did work with Travis. You know, he came here. We shot a music video right in this ring, ‘4×4.’”

Booker explained that celebrity wrestling isn’t for everybody, even after watching names like Logan Paul and Bad Bunny successfully make the jump. In Scott’s case, Booker believes the bigger problem was how much the rapper already had on his plate.

“But no, I was working with him. But like I say, you see a lot of guys, you know, like a Logan Paul, like a Bad Bunny, you know, Speed, you know, and they come in, they do a lot of things. And a lot of times it’s for them, but it’s not for everybody.”

Booker then made it clear that he didn’t think Scott lacked the ability. After personally training him, Booker felt Scott could handle the physical side of professional wrestling.

“And I think with Travis Scott, this guy got so much work, man. He’s doing this, he’s doing that, he’s doing this, and then to try to do this. I think that’s what it was more than anything. I don’t think — after working with him, you know, just a couple of times — he could actually do the work. I saw it with my own eyes.”

For Booker, it ultimately came down to Scott trying to balance wrestling with his music career and everything else going on around him.

“But I just think timing, you put into this compared to every other project he had going on, as well as his music, I just don’t think the timing was right.”

That explanation adds another piece to what became a messy WWE run for Scott. Ringside News previously covered questions about Scott’s WWE work ethic and training schedule, along with claims that his planned Money in the Bank involvement fell apart after he stopped showing up. Scott had been positioned for something much bigger after appearing alongside The Rock and John Cena and getting physical with Cody Rhodes.

Scott’s WWE involvement started with huge expectations, but Booker’s comments paint a simpler picture: the guy could do the work, but wrestling needed more time than his schedule allowed. Whether that door ever opens again remains to be seen, but Booker clearly doesn’t believe talent was the thing holding Travis Scott back.

Do you think Travis Scott could have pulled off a legitimate WWE match if he had committed more time to training, or was WWE better off moving on? Let us know what you think in the comments.
