Bobby Roode’s son is officially on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus.
The WWE veteran shared the news on Instagram, posting photos of his son, Nick Roode, after the procedure. Roode made it clear the operation went as planned and the focus now shifts to getting healthy and returning stronger.
“Meniscus repair was a success! Now we recover and come back better than ever.”
Nick plays lacrosse at the University of Michigan, and Roode tagged both his son and the school’s lacrosse program in the post. The injury update comes as Roode continues working behind the scenes in WWE. He officially retired from in-ring competition in 2023 after neck problems brought his wrestling career to an end.
Roode underwent multiple surgeries of his own after dealing with serious neck issues. His final televised match came in the 2022 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, while his last match overall was a loss to Omos at a WWE live event on June 25, 2022.
The former NXT Champion now works as a producer for WWE, helping put matches together backstage instead of competing inside the ring.
Roode has been through the surgery and recovery process himself, so his son has someone close who understands exactly what comes next. The operation was successful, and now the work begins on the comeback.
