Blake Monroe finally has her first WWE main roster opponent, and it’s Giulia.

After the August 14 episode of WWE SmackDown went off the air, WWE released an off-air backstage segment featuring Monroe and Nick Aldis. The SmackDown General Manager told Monroe he had heard complaints from women on the roster about her attacking people from behind, so he decided it was time for her to actually step into the ring.

“It seems like they’re not very fond of being attacked from behind. So I decided maybe it was time — revolutionary idea, I know — that instead of doing that, you had a match in the ring, one-on-one with one of them.”

Monroe loved the idea, but naturally tried to book the match herself. She suggested making her debut against Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s Championship and joked that she could do Aldis’ job for him.

That’s when Giulia entered the picture. Aldis made it clear Monroe wouldn’t be choosing her opponent and revealed that Giulia will be the woman standing across from her when she finally wrestles her first SmackDown match.

“I think she said that she can’t wait to be the one to give you a beating in your first match.”

Giulia then welcomed Monroe to SmackDown before making it clear she intends to make that debut a miserable one.

The reveal ends weeks of waiting surrounding Monroe’s first match since joining the main roster. She has attacked Giulia, appeared in backstage segments and continued getting television time without actually wrestling, something Monroe has repeatedly joked about while fans questioned when WWE would finally put her in the ring. Now the opponent is locked in. Blake Monroe vs. Giulia is coming to WWE SmackDown, although WWE did not announce a date for the match in the off-air footage.
