The debate over whether DX or the nWo was the better faction has lasted decades, and Billy Gunn isn’t pretending to be neutral — but he also gave credit where it’s due.

During his conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Gunn was asked about the long-running rivalry between the two legendary groups. While he naturally leaned toward his own faction, he made it clear that both groups changed wrestling forever.

“It's people's opinion. It's — and you can have one of those, right? And everybody — it's not one — like it's like of course I say DX is number one, right?”

Gunn admitted his answer comes with obvious bias, especially considering his role as a central member of D-Generation X.

“You might be a little biased. Yes. And then, you know, Kevin's going to say nWo, you know, and they both had — they were both — let's put it — they were both super impactful.”

He pointed out that the influence of both factions is still felt today, with fans across generations recognizing their legacy.

“There's literally, I don't think even as today, there's not one wrestling person that doesn't know what each one of those are. There's not, because it was so impactful and it was so good.”

Even decades later, the rivalry between DX and the nWo remains one of the most talked-about topics among wrestling fans.
