Becky Lynch says Triple H went out of his way to make sure she could step away from WWE without immediately losing her paycheck when she hit a point of burnout. Lynch revealed that when she told Paul “Triple H” Levesque she needed time away, his response was to offer a way for her existing deal to continue until she felt ready to return.

Lynch opened up about the situation during the 2026 espnW: Women + Sports Summit while discussing how WWE has supported her as both a performer and a mother. The conversation started with Lynch recalling how supportive WWE had been when she first became pregnant while she was champion. Vince McMahon congratulated her immediately, and Lynch said the company placed no pressure on her to rush back after giving birth. She then revealed that WWE showed her the same kind of flexibility years later when she reached another difficult point in her career.

By the time Lynch’s daughter was three years old, Lynch said she was beginning to feel burned out. Her WWE contract was also coming up, so she went directly to Levesque and told him she needed to get away for a while.

“And then even when my daughter was three, I felt like I was getting a bit burnt out and my contract was up, and I went to Hunter, Paul, and I said, ‘Look, I just, I need a break. I need some time.’”

Instead of trying to convince Lynch to stay on the road, Levesque offered to extend the arrangement she already had so she could continue getting paid while taking the time she needed.

“And he was like, ‘Well, let’s just, whatever you’re on, let’s just prolong it so that at least you can get paid until you feel like you’re ready to come back.’”

Lynch made it clear that gesture meant a lot to her and was another example of the support WWE had given her throughout motherhood.

“So stuff like that was just so amazing and so supportive.”

The larger issue, according to Lynch, is that professional wrestling can still be a brutal business to navigate as a parent. WWE operates year-round, and performers have historically spent several nights every week traveling from city to city.

“But the thing about wrestling is that it’s 52 weeks a year. You’re in a different city, right? Sometimes four, five nights a week and you’re on the road.”

Lynch acknowledged that she and Seth Rollins have resources that many other wrestlers may not have. They were able to use a tour bus, bring their daughter with them and have help from a nanny while traveling. She also said WWE’s schedule has become lighter and that the company has worked with mothers individually, including keeping some of them off live events and only bringing them in for television.

“WWE has been very good at facilitating like, ‘Okay, you’re a mom. Okay, we’re not going to put you on live events. You’ll be at TV.’”

Lynch even broke down how she currently handles RAW while living in Los Angeles. She said she can put her daughter to bed Sunday night, take a red-eye flight to RAW, work Monday’s show and get home as quickly as possible afterward.

“I’ll put her to bed on a Sunday night, get on a red eye, do Monday Night Raw, and then fly back as early as I can. So really, I only miss one sleep.”

For Lynch, Triple H’s offer came at a time when she knew she needed to pull back rather than keep grinding through burnout. Instead of making her choose between taking care of herself and protecting her WWE deal, she says Levesque gave her room to do both.
