Becky Lynch is not giving Sol Ruca much of a chance at Clash in Italy.
The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion is set to defend her title against Ruca after their match at Saturday Night’s Main Event ended in controversy. That bout only lasted around two minutes before Lynch pulled referee Jessika Carr into the path of Ruca’s Sol Snatcher, causing the match to end by disqualification. Now Lynch is heading into Italy with the title on the line, and she’s already talking like Ruca has no business being in the ring with her.
During a new WWE interview with Corey Graves, Lynch said fans should expect the same thing they have already seen from Ruca on the main roster.
“I think we can expect what we’ve seen the whole time, that Sol Ruca is not ready. She hasn’t won a single match since she’s been on the main roster.”
Lynch then mocked Ruca’s disqualification win from Saturday Night’s Main Event, saying she basically gave Ruca the victory herself.
“She has lost all of her matches. Apparently she won against me by disqualification, I guess I’m so good at winning, I win for other people now, she doesn’t even need to win a match, I win it for her.”
Becky didn’t stop there. She said Ruca will realize she has taken on more than she can handle and predicted this could be the end of her main roster run.
“I think she’s going to realize that she’s bitten off more than she can chew, that she doesn’t belong here. I think this will be the end of Sol Ruca, I don’t think that we’ll be seeing her again. I think she’ll be very embarrassed, I think she’ll run home to America.”
Lynch also made it clear that she already has post-match plans in mind. In her eyes, she beats Ruca, stays in Europe, celebrates with her family, and enjoys life as champion.
“I’ll stay in Europe, I’ll celebrate. I might have a vacation with my family. I’ll enjoy myself, maybe I’ll go home, maybe I’ll have a pint of Guinness. I’ll enjoy my time in Europe because I deserve it. I deserve a vacation.”
Then Lynch took one more shot at Ruca while reminding everyone how highly she thinks of herself.
“I’ll snuggle up next to my Intercontinental Championship and enjoy my time as champion, because I’ve earned it. I’m the greatest female wrestler of all time, and she’s not.”
Lynch ended by blaming Ruca for what happened at Saturday Night’s Main Event, claiming she proved Ruca could not handle being in the ring with her.
“She doesn’t deserve to be in the ring with me, I proved that at Saturday Night’s Main Event. She couldn’t handle it, she attacked a referee viciously.”
The comments come just hours before Lynch and Ruca run it back at Clash in Italy. WWE clearly wants fans wondering whether Ruca can prove Becky wrong or if Lynch is about to crush her momentum before it really gets going.
Either way, Becky Lynch is walking into Italy with no respect for Sol Ruca and plenty of confidence that she’ll leave with her title still around her waist.
