Becky Lynch is finally breaking down that chaotic in-ring moment with CM Punk—and it turns out a lot of it wasn’t planned the way people might think.
During the September 1, 2025 episode of Raw, Lynch confronted CM Punk and unloaded with a barrage of slaps, even driving her head into his chest while Punk stood his ground and didn’t fire back. The segment stood out for how intense it felt—and now Lynch is explaining how little of it was actually planned.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Becky Lynch revealed that the segment wasn’t mapped out beat-for-beat going in. She had a starting point—but everything after that was left open.
“That—slapping the pi** out of him. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I knew I was going to slap him, and whatever was going to happen after that....was going to happen after that.”
She also confirmed that the physicality—including driving her head into Punk—was something she chose to add in the moment as things escalated. She also brought up just how often she actually went at Punk during those segments, even joking about wanting a real count of how many times she landed the shots.
“And putting my head into his chest was part of it. I would love a slap count—I slapped him many, many times, maybe a hundred over the course of a couple of days, because I did it twice. It wasn’t just that one week—I did it the next week too.”
Moments like this are exactly why segments between top names can hit differently—when both sides are willing to lean into the moment and let things unfold without overthinking it, you get something that feels raw, unpredictable, and hard to ignore.
