WWE’s TV schedule appears to be shifting again.
The company’s official website has removed the August 31 RAW taping in Charlotte from its event listings. That immediately raised eyebrows, because Ticketmaster is still selling tickets for the show, and the Spectrum Center is still advertising the event on its own website.
So, this does not look like a straight-up cancellation right now. It looks more like WWE may be updating its schedule behind the scenes. The most likely scenario is that WWE is adjusting its materials to include a double taping in Charlotte on August 31. That would allow WWE to tape RAW and SmackDown in the same market before Labor Day weekend, giving the crew some time off instead of running another show later that week.
That possible change comes after WWE’s September 4 SmackDown taping in Cincinnati was canceled. That event was scheduled for the Heritage Bank Center, and Ticketmaster already informed fans that refunds are coming. Ticketmaster’s notice said the event organizer canceled the show. Fans were also told they do not need to take any action to get their money back.
“Unfortunately, the Event Organizer has had to cancel your event.”
“You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the Event Organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days.”
At first, WWE’s website still listed the Cincinnati SmackDown taping even after Ticketmaster marked it canceled. That has now changed, and WWE has removed the canceled September 4 Cincinnati date from its schedule.
Now Charlotte is the one to watch. The August 31 RAW taping disappearing from WWE’s site while tickets remain on sale elsewhere suggests WWE may be reshuffling things instead of scrapping the event entirely.
WWE has not officially announced a double taping or explained the schedule change as of this writing. For now, Cincinnati is off the board, Charlotte is still being advertised by Ticketmaster and the venue, and WWE’s own listings suggest something is being updated.
