Andrade has revealed what many fans never knew — WWE originally planned for him to compete in the first WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on June 7, 2025, but the match got scrapped before it could happen.
Speaking to Eduardo Bates, Andrade revealed he was set to face El Hijo del Vikingo, Rey Fénix, and NXT Champion Oba Femi in a four-way match at the first WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event, planned for Los Angeles.
“I was also going to be part of a show. I was going to be on the first AAA event. They told me the match was going to be Vikingo, Fénix, the NXT Champion—he’s the NXT Champion—Oba Femi. Oba Femi. It was him and me. It was going to be a four–way match at the first event in… I think Los Angeles.”
According to Andrade, WWE saw him as the ideal bridge between the smaller luchadores and Oba Femi. He says they believed his in-ring style could help balance the match both physically and visually since he could work well with all of them.
“They said that would be the match, asked if I’d like it, all of that… They said, ‘We’d like you because we know you can work with Fénix, but also with Vikingo, so that Vikingo wouldn’t look too small next to Oba Femi.’”
But those plans were quickly dropped. Andrade was moved into the Money in the Bank match that same night, and the Worlds Collide booking never happened.
“That was the event, but then everything changed… Yes, I entered Money in the Bank, and they didn’t put me in that event anymore, and I never went back to AAA.”
A four-way match with Andrade, Vikingo, Fénix, and Oba Femi could’ve delivered a match of the year candidate — one that fans rarely get to witness on a crossover stage. Instead, it was shelved before it ever got off the ground. For now, it’s just another lost match that lives only in wrestling what-ifs.
What do you think — should WWE have gone through with Andrade’s four-way match? Would Vikingo, Rey Fénix, Oba Femi, and Andrade have torn the house down? Drop your thoughts below and let us know how you would’ve booked it.
