Ahmed Johnson has opened up about his experiences working alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson before he became one of the biggest stars in wrestling history.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes, Ahmed reflected on his time working with Rocky Maivia during the Nation of Domination era. According to Ahmed, he enjoyed being around Johnson before his rise to the top of WWE.

“Before he became The Rock, man, he was cool, man. He was good people before he became The Rock.”

However, Ahmed claimed things changed once Johnson’s star power began to grow and he eventually became the leader of the Nation of Domination.

“Once he became The Rock, oh my God, man. You couldn’t tell him don’t stink. I mean, he was conceded, on cloud nine. He was terrible, man, when he became The Rock.”

Ahmed was later asked if the change happened immediately after Johnson turned heel or if it developed over time. He explained that it gradually happened as WWE began positioning Johnson above the rest of the group.

“It took a little while, but once they started adding him into play with being the leader of the Nation over Farooq, his head just swelled up and you couldn’t tell him nothing, brother.”

The comments offer a rare glimpse into how one former WWE star viewed Johnson’s transformation from Rocky Maivia into The Rock during one of the most important periods of his career.

While Johnson went on to become one of the biggest names in wrestling and entertainment, Ahmed’s memories paint a very different picture of those early days behind the scenes. Ahmed Johnson continues to share stories from his WWE career, and this latest claim about The Rock is certain to get fans talking.
