The show opens up with a video package recapping Fright Night Dynamite and the attack on AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page by Samoa Joe and The Opps. From there, we head to ringside where Tony Schiavone starts to make an announcement regarding a new championship in AEW until The Opps’ music hits and they make their way down to the ring with Joe saying “Houston, we have a problem.”
Joe then says there is an old saying that may apply to the man in the ring Tony Schiavone. The crowd then chants for Tony, but Joe seems to have it out for the man who helped deceive The Opps last week as he tells Tony to shut up when he starts to express his respect. Joe then says actions have consequences and consequences have come for Tony Schiavone. The Opps then hop onto the ring apron as security rushes down to stop a fight, but it is the arrival of AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page that has Joe backing off.
Security then tries to hold Page back as Joe says this means he can take care of two problems at once, but HOOK and Eddie Kingston make their way down to the ring to even the numbers. The Opps then retreat up the ramp as Page says he can understand the confusion, but he is right here. Page then says he may be Joe’s problem, but he is willing to beat Joe up in his Wranglers. HOOK then has a mic as well, asking The Opps how it feels holding those titles without him before issuing a challenge for the champs to put their titles on the line tonight. Joe is then riled up by this, eventually accepting the challenge as we hear that Tony Khan has made the match official.
Commentary then hypes up the lineup for tonight and Orange Cassidy makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night. Claudio Castagnoli then makes his way down to the ring next.
The match starts off with Cassidy diving into Castagnoli on the outside. Castagnoli then manages to turn things around as the fight returns to the ring. Castagnoli then brings Cassidy to the outside, beating up on Cassidy before slamming him onto the barricade. Castagnoli then hoists Cassidy up to bring him back into the ring, but Cassidy manages to break free as he clings onto the back of Castagnoli. Cassidy then goes for a sleeper hold of sorts as Castagnoli starts to fade. Castagnoli then tries to fight out of the grip, even spinning Cassidy around but Cassidy still holds on. Castagnoli finally manages to break free, pulling Cassidy around for a giant swing that sends Cassidy through the ropes and to the outside.
Cassidy has returned to the ring as he starts to fight back until Castagnoli sends him to the corner for an uppercut. Castagnoli then backs off as he taunts the crowd, but this gives Cassidy an opening to put his hands in his pockets for a second wind. He then runs the ropes to take Castagnoli down to the mat, following up with a PK before Castagnoli leaves the ring. Cassidy then charges for a tornado DDT through the corner, but gets caught by Castagnoli only for Castagnoli to still be sent to the floor with a DDT.
The match then returns to the ring as Cassidy continues the fight, only for Castagnoli to take him down to the mat for a near fall. Cassidy and Castagnoli then teeter on the ropes, but Cassidy hits Castagnoli with a Stun Dog Millionaire from the apron and surprises him with an Orange Punch. Castagnoli then hits Cassidy with a pop-up uppercut for the win.
The winner of the Men’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle, The Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli!
We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is standing by with Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis. Mark says he heard Callis respond to his challenge for a TNT Championship rematch a couple of weeks ago, but he wants to hear what Fletcher actually has to say and challenges Fletcher to a No Disqualification Match for the TNT Championship at Full Gear. Fletcher then appears interested, but Callis tells Mark he needs him to put something on the line in the bout: he has to join The Don Callis Family if he loses. Mark then accepts, confident that he won’t lose.
Commentary then hypes up the Million Dollar Trios Match set for Full Gear before we head to the back to hear from the Young Bucks alongside Don Callis and Josh Alexander. Don talks about his recent contributions to the Bucks amidst the speculation that they may have joined the Don Callis Family. The rest of the Family except Konosuke Takeshita then show up to say hello as Don asks Okada to give a testimonial. The Bucks then ask for space and the Family walk away, with Okada telling them not to take too much time before he too walks off.
Commentary then hypes up the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament as we head back to ringside, where Mercedes Moné makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Athena then makes her way down to the ring next. We then take a look back at Athena aiding Moné against Statlander before Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale made the save and they make their way down to the ring as the match gets underway.
The match starts off with Athena and Moné blindsiding Harley and Willow before we get things started with Moné and Cameron. Moné then brings Cameron to the corner for a boot to the throat before tagging in Athena, who continues the attack for a near fall. A tag is then made to Moné, who lays out Cameron as the crowd chants “Boston sucks” while she gets a near fall. Cameron then crawls to the corner, making a tag to Willow who takes down Athena and Moné with a missile dropkick. Cameron then looks for the tag and gets it and the both women go at it sending Moné down before Cameron gets a two count. Athena then comes in as Willow gets sent to the outside, where she takes a dive from Athena while Moné gets a near fall on Cameron.
Moné then hits a couple of vertical suplexes before tagging in Athena, but Cameron and Willow take their opponents down to the canvas. Athena then takes a flurry of offense from Willow in the corner, allowing for a near fall before Athena fights back for a tag to Moné. Moné then takes Willow down hard, but only gets a two count before she lays in some more forearm strikes. Willow then fights back for a tag to Cameron, but Moné takes Willow down with a Backstabber only to take Sole Food from Cameron. Athena is then fended off as the Babes of Wrath send her to the corner before Moné hits a Backstabber on Cameron and transitioning into a Statement Maker.
Cameron then looks like she’s in trouble as Willow gets back to her feet, running the ropes for a pounce on Athena sending her onto Moné to break the submission hold. Athena then rolls to the apron as Willow tags in, sending both women away as Athena gets a tag. She then takes Willow out, sending her toward the corner where Cameron makes a tag to get back in. She then charges at Athena, who has Willow on her shoulders and catches Cameron in her arms before slamming both women down to the canvas. She then calls for Billie Starkz to come to ringside and intervene, but she is fended off by Kris Statlander as Willow hits a powerbomb on Athena before Cameron hits Her Finishing Maneuver for the win.
The winners of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal Match, Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron and The Conglomeration’s Willow Nightingale)!
After the match, the Babes of Wrath celebrate their win.
We then return to ringside as Tony Schiavone makes clear the news that broke on social media earlier today as a Casino Gauntlet Match at Full Gear will crown the first-ever AEW National Champion. Tony then talks about the history of a National Championship on TBS before introducing the first two men who have signed for this match, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. The Hurt Syndicate then make their way down to the ring to a nice pop and a “WE HURT PEOPLE” chant from the crowd.
MVP then jokes about making sure this is actually Schiavone before. he hypes up the Hurt Syndicate as being the most interesting thing in any room we step into before talking about the National Title’s lineage over the years. He also talks about the iconic names that have held that title before, but says who is more iconic than “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley. He then hypes up how good Shelton Benjamin is before Tony asks what happens if the two men face each other in the match. MVP then says they handle things like businessmen and what’s best for business is also best for the AEW audience. He is then interrupted by The Demand as Ricochet gets booed out of the building for wearing a Philadelphia Eagles cap while he gives respect to the Hurt Syndicate.
He then jokes about the fact he’s made sure the Syndicate don’t win gold ever again, asking Lashley how his back is doing while the crowd chant “shut the f–k up”…to which Ricochet responds by saying they’re only making it worse. MVP then talks over Ricochet to say he likes getting hurt and the Hurt Syndicate like to hurt people trying to invite Ricochet and his crew to the ring for a fight after Ricochet declares he will be the first AEW National Champion. Ricochet then laughs.
We then head to the back, where Jack Perry tells Luchasaurus that some things are more important than money as he addresses the Young Buck dealing with tough times. He then offers a $100 bill that he sticks a knife into, telling Luchasaurus to leave it.
Darby Allin then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. We then head to the back, where Moxley encourages Daniel Garcia to put this away before Garcia makes his way down to the ring through the crowd.
The match starts off with Garcia getting an early advantage, but Allin showcases his technical prowess eventually getting a side headlock. Garcia then fights out of it by pulling the ear of Allin. Allin then moves away to the apron, only to get caught in the corner by Garcia who tries to choke him out with a turnbuckle cover before the referee intervenes. Garcia then goes back on the attack, only for Allin to fight back before taking a bite out of Garcia. Garcia then drops to the floor and he gets hit with a dive that sends both men to the floor. Allin is the first one back up, sending Garcia into the ring steps before charging at him.
He then brings Garcia back into the ring, but Garcia quickly slips back out before tripping Allin up in the ring apron for a boot to the face. He then brings Allin back up, sending him into the ring steps with the impact forcing Allin to the floor. Garcia has the advantage over Allin in the ring before Allin places Garcia in a guillotine choke on the canvas. Garcia then breaks free, but Allin is quick to go for another hold only for Garcia to place him in a rear naked choke. Allin then moves back, looking to get Garcia on his shoulders to force a break.
Garcia then goes right back on it before being backed into a corner, leading to a count to break the hold. The fight then returns to the corner as Garcia sets up for a superplex, hitting it before going for a second suplex but Allin counters it into a Scorpion Death Drop. Both men are down as the referee begins the count.
Allin is back up as he heads to the corner, but gets dropped to the floor by Garcia instead. Garcia then drags Allin around before pulling the ring steps away from the ring itself, propping the head of Allin against it for a nasty-looking dropkick. The referee then intervenes, telling Garcia to back away as he heads back into the ring. This then leaves the referee no choice but to begin the count until he has it out with Garcia for trying to go back after Allin. In the midst of this, PAC sneaks to ringside for a cheap shot before escaping through the crowd.
The count then resets due to the argument with Garcia and the referee reaches nine just before Allin leaps into the ring. Garcia then sees the opening that he needs as he lays in some hard strikes on Allin. He then locks in the Dragon Slayer, but it looks more of a Scorpion Deathlock as he mocks Sting before turning Allin over. Allin then crawls toward the ropes, but is pulled back to the middle of the ring by Garcia. Allin. then manages to break free enough to counter into a Scorpion Deathlock of his own and Garcia has no choice but to tap out.
The winner of the Men’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle, Darby Allin!
After the match, the Death Riders beat down Darby Allin until things break down with nearly the rest of the Death Riders and the Conglomeration coming down to ringside. Kyle O’Reilly then looks hurt as Strong manages to get the Death Riders away from the ring. The stare-down between both teams then continues.
We then head back to ringside as FTR make their way down to the ring to a round of boos from the crowd. Cash Wheeler talks about winning another shot at the tag titles, but says they should have been 3-time champions at Forbidden Door. He then says they have a bone to pick with Brodido, calling the champs out to do this man to man, face to face. Brodido’s music then hits, but there is no sign of the champs as we see them trapped in their dressing room backstage with Big Stoke unsure why they can’t get out as he is watching his phone. Dax then makes fun of this before talking about Bandido’s family being at ringside.
We then see the family, including his brother Gravity as Dax introduces himself to Bandido’s grandmother and Cash in Spanish before saying it was heartwarming to see her cheering her grandson on. He then asks the grandmother how old she is, but interrupts her to say she can’t be a day over 113. He then makes a Dia de los Muertos joke before saying he and Cash would love to adopt her as their abuela. He then says he wants to seal the deal with a beso (kiss), but Gravity fights for her honor before they bring him to the ring for a beating as we see Brody King break through the door, grabbing Big Stoke before he and Bandido make their way out. Bandido then come to the aid of Gravity as FTR and Stoke retreat up the ramp.
Commentary then hypes up the recently-released AEW book before we get a music video for “Sick Ones” by The Violent Hour hyping up Blood & Guts next week.
We then head back to ringside, where “Timeless” Toni Storm makes her way down to the ring to join the commentary desk for the next match of the night. Mina Shirakawa, replacing the injured Queen Aminata, then makes her way down to the ring next and Megan Bayne follows alongside Penelope Ford as this match gets underway.
The match starts off with Bayne having the early advantage and taking Shirakawa down before Shirakawa breaks free. She then hits the ropes for a headscissors takedown, but Bayne stops her in her tracks before Shirakawa hits a dropkick sending her to the ropes and to the floor outside. Shirakawa then climbs the turnbuckle as the crowd chants for her and she takes to the sky for a crossbody, sending Bayne to the floor before the fight returns to the ring where Bayne ends up sending Shirakawa to the mat with an avalanche fall away slam.
Shirakawa then manages to take Bayne to the mat before making a cover for a two count. Bayne then returns the favor by slamming Shirakawa down hard before taking a near fall of her own and the battle spills to the apron as both women fight it out before Shirakawa takes control with a suplex, sending Bayne onto the hardest part of the ring.
She is unable to capitalize as Bayne is already back up, hitting a superplex on Shirakawa from the turnbuckle. Shirakawa then manages to turn it back around for a sling blade off the top turnbuckle, but only gets a near fall for her efforts. She then looks for the Glamorous Driver as we see Toni Storm choked out and dragged away from the announce table by Marina Shafir. Back in the ring, Shirakawa tries to fight on before Bayne turns it around with a running Liger Bomb for the win.
The winner of the Women’s Blood & Guts Advantage Battle, “The Megasus” Megan Bayne!
After the match, Storm, who managed to fight off Shafir, returns to the ring with a chair before the Sisters of Sin make their way down to get involved as well. This then leads to nearly everyone on both teams running down to the ring. Chaos. then ensues as we see Moné make her way down only to decide against it, but Statlander is out here to go after her future challenger as well. The chaos hen finally dies down with the babyfaces standing tall in the ring.
The Opps then make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night and “Hangman” Adam Page, HOOK and Eddie Kingston follow.
The match starts off with Joe teasing going toe to toe with Page before tagging in Shibata and he steps up to Page for an exchange of strikes. Page then takes Shibata down before making a tag to HOOK, who squares up with Shibata only for Shibata to take him down before tagging in Hobbs. Hobbs then comes in to take HOOK down hard to the mat, mocking him throughout. Hobbs then sends HOOK to the corner, but HOOK reverses with a T-Bone suplex sending Hobbs down to the mat. HOOK then reaches for his back in pain, but Hobbs is still down.
Joe and Kingston is in the ring and they are going at it until Joe sends Kingston to the mat. He. then attacks Kingston’s neck for a nerve pinch until Kingston fights back to his feet, only to be sent right back down by Joe. Joe then goes for a running senton, but Kingston rolls out of the way. Joe then crawls for a tag to Hobbs as Kingston gets a tag to Page. Both men then go at it until Page sends Hobbs to the outside, only for Hobbs to catch him on a dive. Page then narrowly breaks free and the fight returns to the ring as Page hits Hobbs with a moonsault for a two count.
Things then break down after a tag to Kingston, which leads to Hobbs taking Page to the stage for a beatdown before Page fights back. Hobbs then catches Page, sending him off the stage and through a table. Hobbs then makes his way back to the ring as Kingston does his best to fight back Joe and Shibata. Kingston then dodges a PK from Shibata, who collides with Joe instead as Kingston hits an exploder suplex. Hobbs then charges at him, sending Kingston to the corner but this allows HOOK to get a blind tag. He then climbs the back of Hobbs, but Hobbs catches him in a torture rack and HOOK taps out.
The winners and still the AEW World Trios Champions, The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs and “The Wrestler” Katsuyori Shibata)!
