AEW is going all out for the October 14 episode of Dynamite, as it is the go-home edition of the show before the WrestleDream pay-per-view. That’s why the company has booked a memorable lineup with big matches to keep fans engaged from start to finish.
Will Ospreay & Andrade El Idolo vs. Samoa Joe & Tommaso Ciampa
AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and National Champion Andrade El Idolo are teaming up tonight, but their opponents aren’t exactly making this an easy night before WrestleDream.
Ospreay and Andrade face Samoa Joe and Tommaso Ciampa in a match loaded with championship-level talent. Ospreay is only three days away from WrestleDream, so getting through tonight without giving his upcoming challengers any extra reason to feel confident would be useful. Joe and Ciampa, meanwhile, have the opportunity to knock off two current champions in the same match.
Clockwork Carnage Qualifier – AEW TNT Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Hechicero
Darby Allin has two things to worry about in the same match tonight. His TNT Championship is on the line against CMLL World Champion Hechicero, but that’s only half of what’s at stake. The winner will also qualify for the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream.
That means Darby could walk out still holding his championship and with an even bigger opportunity waiting three days later. Hechicero can take both of those things away from him in one night. So we’ll have to see who will win in the end.
Clockwork Carnage Qualifier – AEW International Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Myron Reed
Kazuchika Okada has the same problem as Darby. The International Champion has to defend his title against Myron Reed while also trying to secure his place in Clockwork Carnage. Reed has a lot to gain here. Beating Okada would give him the International Championship and send him into one of the biggest matches at WrestleDream at the same time. Okada has been through plenty of big matches before, but tonight he has two prizes to protect in a single match.
Mercedes Moné, Megan Bayne & Lena Kross vs. Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue
Mercedes Moné and Thekla don’t have to wait until WrestleDream to get their hands on each other. Before Moné defends the AEW Women’s World Championship against Thekla, they’ll stand on opposite sides of a six-woman tag tonight. Moné teams with Divine Dominion’s Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, while Thekla has Julia Hart and Skye Blue beside her. So it remains to be seen who will win in the end.
Other Matches
The Clockwork Carnage qualifiers continue as Adam Copeland and Josh Alexander face each other, Ricochet and Ace Austin duke it out, Konosuke Takeshita goes one-on-one with Brian Cage, Jon Moxley, Gabe Kidd & Daniel Garcia face Wardlow, Mark Davis & Jake Doyle. That’s not all as Britt Baker and TBS Champion Persephone are teaming together against Dani Luna and Hyan.
