Tonight’s AEW Dynamite airing March 5 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California. The AEW Revolution go-home show sees “The Rated R Superstar” Cope face The Death Riders’ AEW World Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta in a Singles Match. Plus, Swerve Strickland and Ricochet will sign their Revolution contract.

AEW Dynamite Results (3/5/2025): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show opens up with pyro shooting off from the building, while Excalibur welcomes us to the AEW Revolution go-home episode with Ian Riccaboni and Taz. We then see a contract signing table in the ring.

We then see MJF standing somewhere outside the building and he talks about how he normally likes to play with his food, but Hangman Page made him angry. MJF then says he is not hard to find. MJF then gets close to the camera and says Hangman let’s ride.

We then see Tony Schiavone standing in the ring and he introduces Swerve Strickland for the AEW Revolution contract signing. Swerve Strickland’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring with Prince Nana. Schiavone starts off by saying that the winner of the match at Revolution will become #1 Contender to the AEW World Championship. Schiavone then introduces Ricochet and Ricochet makes his way down to the ring.

Excalibur says Swerve and Brody King vs. Ricochet and Kazuchika Okada will be the main event of tonight’s Dynamite. Once Ricochet sits down, Schiavone asks him where the Embassy robe is that he stole. Ricochet says the robe belongs to him and it is getting some modifications, but he will bring it to Revolution. Strickland then holds up his hand to calm Nana down. Ricochet then takes a jab at Strickland by saying at least his house can’t be burnt down again. Strickland then tells Ricochet to sign the contract. Ricochet then says Strickland is lucky that he is giving him a rematch. Ricochet then says Strickland mocked and bullied him. Ricochet then says in the face of that he still beat Strickland.

Ricochet then reminds Strickland that he is the one who started all of their issues and expresses his confidence in becoming the #1 Contender for the AEW World Championship. Ricochet then signs the contract. Strickland then tells Ricochet to quiet down and says despite attacking him with scissors and getting a disqualification win over him, he still left him breathing which was his number one mistake. Strickland then says he will put Ricochet in the ground to become the #1 Contender for the AEW World Championship. Strickland then takes a shot at Samantha Irvin before signing the contract. Ricochet then looks to attack Strickland with his scissors, but anticipating that he is about to use them, Strickland pulls out a pair of his own and hits Ricochet in the eye with them. Ricochet is bleeding in the ring, while Strickland and Nana heads to the back.

Commentary then runs through the show’s lineup and says Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, Mark Briscoe and Orange Cassidy vs. Bryan Keith, Mark Davis, Lance Archer and Brian Cage will be coming up next.

We then get a video package touting that AEW PPVs will be available via Prime Video starting with Revolution.

Will Ospreay then makes his way down to the ring for the 8-Man Tag Team Match and we get the rest of the entrances for the first match of the night.

8-Man Tag Team Match: “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay, Powerhouse Hobbs, Mark Briscoe and “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy vs. The Learning Tree’s “The Bad Apple” Bryan Keith and Don Callis Family (“The Machine” Brian Cage, “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer and Mark Davis)

The match starts off with Will Ospreay and Brian Cage. Ospreay then goes after Cage. Cage then does bicep curls with Ospreay and delivers some strikes on Ospreay in the corner, then nails him with a clothesline. Ospreay then hits an Angle Slam on Cage, then tags in Briscoe. Briscoe then delivers some chops on Cage, then tags in Ospreay. Hobbs then tags in and follows suit as does Cassidy. Cage then hits Cassidy with a clothesline, then follows it up with a Brainbuster and tags in Archer. Archer then hits a spinning Sidewalk Slam on Cassidy.

Don Callis then hits stomps on Cassidy as the referee tries to keep Ospreay out of the ring. Archer then gets Cassidy up in a delayed vertical suplex, then tags in Cage. Archer then hands Cassidy over to Cage and Cage tags in Davis. Davis then takes hold of Cassidy and sends him crashing into the mat. Keith then tags in and looks to take down Cassidy, but Cassidy nails him. Davis then tags in, but Cassidy hits the Stun Dog Millionaire on him and tags in Hobbs.

Hobbs then hits Davis with a shoulder tackle, but Archer and Cage nail him with forearms. They then look to hit him with a double clothesline, but Hobbs moves out of the way and hits a double clothesline on both of them. Cassidy then hits an elbow drop on Davis off Hobbs’ shoulders, then nails Keith with a clothesline before Ospreay tags in.

Everyone then begins nailing each other and Briscoe delivers some forearms on Keith. Briscoe then hits him with a back elbow, but Archer nails him and grabs a chair. Archer then chases the referee out of the ring and looks to use it, but Briscoe punches it out of his hand and uses it as a launch pad to take flight over the top rope and nail Archer and Cage on the outside. Ospreay then hits the Hidden Blade on Keith for the win.

After the match, Archer, Cage and Keith beat down Briscoe, Cassidy and Hobbs as Davis has a sleeper locked in on Ospreay inside the ring. Archer and Cage then chokeslam Hobbs on top of the ring steps as Kyle Fletcher makes his way down to the ring. Archer and Cage then hold Ospreay and Fletcher beats him down. Fletcher then orders Davis to hit Ospreay with a chair and a hesitant Davis does so. Davis then heads to the back and Fletcher hits Ospreay with a Brainbuster. Fletcher then stands over Ospreay and poses, while Cage, Archer and Callis stands by.

We then get a video package setting up the Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kenny Omega match for the AEW International Championship at Revolution.

Wheeler Yuta then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Cope follows.

Singles Match: “The Rated R Superstar” Cope vs. The Death Riders’ AEW World Trios Champion Wheeler Yuta

The match starts off with both men locking up and Cope gives Yuta a clean break in the corner. Cope then backs Yuta into the corner again and Yuta tries to kick him, but Cope stuffs it. Copeland then has Yuta down at ringside. Yuta is on the offensive and picks up a near fall. Yuta then goes to the ropes and is cut off by Cope, who joins him on the ropes. Yuta then headbutts Cope, who falls to the mat. Yuta then jumps from the ropes and headbutts Cope and covers him for a two count.

Cope then avoids the Cattle Mutilation and counters into a crossface. Yuta then rolls Cope into a pin for Yuta to break the hold. Cope then hits an Impaler and then charges at Yuta, who hits Cope with a Busaiku Knee that sends Cope to ringside. Yuta then rolls Cope back inside the ring and covers him for a near fall. Cope then hits a spear on Yuta for the win.

After the match, Cope grabs a microphone and shakes Yuta’s hand. Cope then tells Yuta this is what respect feels like. Cope then leaves the ring, while Yuta looked surprised by the way he was treated. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley then makes his way out and barks at Yuta and pie-faces him a few times. A “Yuta” chant then breaks out. Yuta then pie-faces Moxley and exits the ring, then heads to the back via the side of the stage. Moxley then leaves the ring and follows Yuta. In a backstage area, Moxley tells Yuta to keep walking. Moxley then looks into the camera and congratulates Cope for seeing to it that he will be alone at Revolution. Moxley then says Cope distracted him and wasted his time. Moxley then congratulates Cope for rattling his cage. Moxley then asks Cope what he will do to him on Sunday. Moxley then says Cope will do nothing and he will enjoy every second of kicking his ass. Moxley then mocks the idea of Cope thinking he taught Yuta about respect by shaking his hand. Moxley then says there’s no respect in the business and never has been. Moxley then says Cope has pulled the trigger on him three times, but he he only has to pull the trigger once on Sunday.

We then get a video package hyping up the match between The Outrunners and The Hurt Syndicate at Revolution.

We then head to the back, where MJF is speaking with Renee Paquette and says he knew Hangman wouldn’t show up to fight him because he’s a coward. An enraged “Hangman” Adam Page then almost runs MJF over with his car and both men brawl into the ringside area. MJF then gains the upper hand and reveals a second shirt that says “MJF did nothing wrong”, then knocks out a couple of security guards and pulls out his Dynamite Diamond Ring. Page then delivers some right hands on MJF, but MJF knocks Page out with his Dynamite Diamond Ring and pours gasoline on him. MJF then pulls out a lighter, but security swarms him before anything else can happen and drags him to the back.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing Ash Avildsen, director of Queen of the Ring. Avildsen says Jim Ross showed him the book that inspired the movie and is an executive producer. Avildsen then introduces Toni Storm as one of the stars. Storm says her only regret is that her gratuitous nude scene was cut from the film. Nair then mentions that Storm will have a sit-down interview with Mariah May. Storm says it can get ugly and then tells the fans to check out the movie on Friday.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: Kris Statlander and “La Mera Mera” Thunder Rosa vs. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford

The match starts off with Kris Statlander and Penelope Ford and both women go back and forth. Rosa then tags in and Bayne sends Statlander over the top rope and on top of Rosa on the outside. Bayne then gets Ford up on her shoulders and sends her crashing over the top on top of Rosa and Statlander.

Bayne then wears Rosa down with a submission. Rosa then powers up to her feet and hits an enzuigiri on Bayne. Statlander and Ford then tag in and Ford looks to hit a handspring back elbow on Statlander. Statlander then moves out of the way and Ford accidentally hits Bayne. Statlander then sends Ford crashing into the mat and pins her, but Ford kicks out. Rosa and Statlander then double team on Bayne and Statlander hits an Ax Kick on Bayne before sending her crashing out of the ring.

Ford then sends Rosa crashing into the corner spine first, then tags in Bayne. Rosa then delivers some chops on Bayne and Ford, but Bayne gets Rosa up on her shoulders and hits her with an F5 for the win.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing Mercedes Moné about her match with Momo Watanabe at Revolution. Moné says she beat Watanabe once before and she is one of the best in Japan and has beaten some of the best to get another shot at her. Moné then says Serena Deeb will break Watanabe for her on Collision.

Max Caster then makes his way down to the ring for his open challenge. Caster shows off his framed trademark paperwork and claims he is the most talked about wrestler in AEW. Caster then says the Maxamaniacs are always talking. Caster then tries to lead the fans in a “Let’s go, Max, you’re the best wrestler alive” chant, which draws boos. Caster then calls the fans a bunch of ball bag. Caster then cals for his open challenge opponent and Jay White makes his way down to the ring.

Singles Match: Max Caster vs. Bang Bang Gang’s “Switchblade” Jay White

The match starts off with Max Caster parading around his “Best Wrestler Alive” trademark, but Jay White hits Caster with the Blade Runner for the win.

After the match, White gets on a microphone and says he and Cope have had each other’s backs since Worlds End and this Sunday he will be there to see Cope win the AEW World Championship.

We then get a tense sit-down interview between Toni Storm, Mariah May and Renee Paquette. May stands up and spits at Storm, but Storm doesn’t flinch. Storm then says it’s nice to know that May still cares. May then says Storm acts like the victim, but she started this. Paquette then tells May that she’s the one who started it. May then says Storm is nothing without her, nor is the title. May then says Storm survived in Australia, but she won’t at Revolution because they will both go down. May then says she’s the woman from hell and she will drag Storm there with her. May then calls herself Storm’s greatest co-star and asks if this is what Storm always wanted. May then says they first shared the ring at Revolution and they can have their Hollywood ending, the one they always dreamed of. Storm then says May doesn’t deserve the dignity of death. Storm then says May’s career will continue and will be good but never great. Storm then says May’s career will dwindle and someday people will ask whatever happened to her. Storm then says it’s what happens when you try to kill God. Both woman then stand up. Paquette then says she prays that neither one of them gets hurt. Storm and May then both say pray for her.

We then get the entrances of the main event of the night, which is a Road To Revolution Tag Team Match.

Road To Revolution Tag Team Match: AEW Continental Champion “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada and Ricochet vs. Swerve Strickland and Hounds of Hell’s Brody King

The match starts off with Swerve Strickland and Kazuchika Okada and both men go back and forth. Ricochet then tags in and delivers some stomps on Strickland with Okada. Brody King and Okada then brawl on the outside as Strickland and Ricochet do so on the other side of the ring. King then sends Strickland into Okada and he hits a jumping knee on him. Okada then looks to hit a running boot on Strickland, but Strickland sends him crashing into Ricochet.

King then sends Ricochet back into the ring, then sends Strickland into him who hits him with a back elbow. King then hits a senton on Ricochet and Strickland hits a strike off the middle rope. Okada then sends Strickland into the corner. Strickland then responds with a backbreaker and a kick on Okada, then tags in King as Ricochet tags in on his side. King then hits a back body drop on Ricochet and nails Okada with a couple of clotheslines. Ricochet then hits a couple of chops on King, but King stays on his feet and nails Ricochet with one of his own. Okada then tags back in and goes back and forth with King, but Strickland tags in and hits a one armed vertical suplex on Ricochet.

Strickland then goes for a pin, but Ricochet kicks out and Strickland hits a House Call on him. Strickland then climbs to the top and hits the Swerve Stomp, then goes for another pin but Okada breaks the fall with an elbow drop off the top rope. Okada and King then exchange right hands and Okada looks to hit the Rainmaker on King. King then avoids it and hits a splash on Okada, then looks to hit a cannonball. Okada then rolls out of the ring before he can hit the move and he grabs his Continental Championship. Strickland then prevents Okada from using it with a House Call and King sends both himself and Okada crashing over the top. Ricochet then hits Strickland with the Continental Championship and pins him for the win.

After the match, Okada and Ricochet stands tall and celebrate their win. Excalibur then hypes Collision, the countdown special and Revolution and the show comes to a close.
