Tonight’s AEW Dynamite airing January 29, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the VBC Probst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama. The show sees “The CEO” Mercedes Moné defend her TBS Title against Yuka Sakazaki. Plus, “The Last Outlaw” Jeff Jarrett take on The Death Riders’ AEW World Trios Champion Claudio Castagnoli in a singles match; where if Jarrett wins, he will receive an AEW World Championship Match.

The show opens up with Will Ospreay making his way down to the ring for the first match of the night, while Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone welcomes us. Brian Cage then makes his way down to the ring next.
Don Callis stands up from the commentary desk and tells Will Ospreay to take a look at the big screen, which shows Kenny Omega laid out backstage. Cage then attacks Will Ospreay from behind.
The match starts off with Cage sending Ospreay into the barricade, but Ospreay leaps and lands on top of it. Ospreay then leaps as Cage runs at him, but Cage catches Ospreay in mid-air and suplexes him on the floor. Archer then attacks Ospreay when the referee isn’t looking as does Callis. Cage then continues to control the action and grounds Ospreay. Ospreay then fires up again and kicks Cage.
Ospreay then hits a springboard elbow strike on Cage. Ospreay then dives onto Cage at ringside. Cage then again gains the upper hand with a suplex. Ospreay then rallies with some kicks. Cage then nails Ospreay with a lariat and powerbombs him. Archer then gets on the apron and Cage accidentally knocks him off the apron. Ospreay then hits the Styles Clash for the win.

After the match, Archer attacks Ospreay and Cage joins in. Kenny Omega then makes his way down to the ring to make the save and hits Cage and Archer with a chair. Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher then attack Omega and Ospreay. Cage and Archer then get involved. Fletcher and Takeshita then hit stereo piledrivers on Ospreay and Omega and The Don Callis Family stands tall. Omega then tries to fight back, but Takeshita and Fletcher attack him again.
We head to the back, where Renee Paquette is outside of Swerve Strickland’s locker room. “Hangman” Adam Page then shows up looking for him and he briefly stares down MJF. Page then walks away and MJF says everyone loves Page and he’s clearly frustrated about it. MJF then says that his words are prophecy and he’s going to teach Jeff Jarrett that the hard way. MJF then says his new offer for Jarrett is one that he can’t decline.
We then head to another area backstage, where Powerhouse Hobbs says that he was not cleared to travel to AEW Dynamite tonight following his brawl with Big Bill on AEW Collision. Hobbs then makes it clear that he’s coming for Bill once he’s cleared.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
The match starts off with Jeff Jarrett putting Claudio Castagnoli in a Figure Four, but Castagnoli reaches the ropes to break the hold. Castagnoli then rolls to ringside and limps to sell the leg lock. Wheeler Yuta then walks through the crowd and is about to climb over the barricade when referee Bryce Remsburg confronts him.
Castagnoli then hits a double stomp on Jarrett’s midsection. Castagnoli then follows it up with The Swing, then locks in a Sharpshooter on Jarrett. Yuta then hops up on the apron, but Jarrett nails him. Castagnoli then looks to take advantage and uses a chair, but Jarrett stops him. Jon Moxley then appears in the ring and hits a Death Rider on Jarrett. Castagnoli then follows it up with a couple of Neutralizers for the win.

After the match, MJF’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. MJF tells Jarrett that he wants to say something to him, but before he can, MJF attacks Jarrett and says he told him so without actually saying anything.
We then head to the back, where Ricochet says he will talk to Renee Paquette at length on AEW Collision, but tonight he’s focused on his match against AR Fox.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
The match starts off with Ricochet and Fox feeling each other out. Fox then hits Ricochet with a stunner and a brainbuster. Fox then dives onto Ricochet at ringside. Ricochet then hits Fox with a hip toss on the apron. Ricochet then teases a dive and taunts the crowd.
Ricochet then hits Fox with a dropkick and follows it up with a standing moonsault. Both men are down after a double crossbody. Fox then slams Ricochet for a two count. Fox then hits Ricochet with a cutter and follows it up a 450 Splash for a two count. Ricochet then hits Fox with a face-buster. Ricochet then hits Fox with the Spirit Gun and the Vertigo for the win.

After the match, Ricochet grabs his scissors but Swerve Strickland pulls him under the bottom rope and sends him crashing into the barricade and the ring steps. Strickland then looks to land a Swerve Stomp on Ricochet, but Ricochet pulls Fox on top of him to prevent Strickland him hitting the move.
We then get a sneak peak of Renee Paquette’s interview with Jon Moxley and the Death Riders.
Chris Jericho then hypes up his upcoming movie Dark Match. Big Bill then responds to Powerhouse Hobbs and says he understands Jericho’s words more than ever as he feels stronger. Jericho then says he’s proud of himself for being a great mentor. Jericho then tells Bill to take Hobbs out. Jericho then says he and Bryan Keith will face The Outrunners on AEW Collision. Jericho then says he expects Bill to make him proud.
We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.
Wheeler Yuta tries to attack Jay White before the match, but White counters into a Bladerunner position. Yuta then escapes and heads to ringside.
The match starts off with Yuta getting back inside the ring and immediately rolling back out of the ring. Yuta then gets back inside once again and White delivers some chops on him, then nails a kick on him and follows it up with a back body drop. The action then spills out of the ring and White hits a chop on Yuta. Yuta then sends White’s face bouncing off the barricade twice, then tangles his ankle up in the ring skirt and stomps on it. Yuta then gets White back in the ring and hits a suplex on him, then sends his ankle bouncing off the mat and the barricade.
White hits a chop on Yuta and follows it up with a clothesline on him in the corner. White then hits Yuta with a superplex, but Yuta rolls up White. White then reverses the fall, but Yuta kicks out and cinches in a Half Boston Crab on White. White then crawls over the bottom rope to break the hold, but Yuta sends White crashing into the mat off his shoulders.
White then sends Yuta crashing into the mat spine first, then sets up for Blade Runner. Yuta then counters into a roll up, but White kicks out and Yuta nails him with a German suplex. Yuta then climbs to the top and looks to fly, but White moves out of the way and hits the Blade Runner for the win.

After the match, White hits Yuta with a second Blade Runner. Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir then reemerge at ringside as Castagnoli blindsides Yuta from behind. Rated FTR then run down to the ring to even the odds. Harwood says it’s an even fight now. Harwood then says he hated what the Death Riders did to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Harwood then challenges the Death Riders to a Midsouth Street Fight on AEW Collision.
Renee Paquette then introduces AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May and she makes her way out. Paquette asks May about her encounter with Toni Storm this past Saturday on Collision, but May becomes enraged as fans chant for Storm. May then taunts Storm and tells her to play the Storm that cried and bled in her hands or the Storm that cried in Japan and Mexico because she couldn’t touch her. May then says it doesn’t matter which Storm she’s facing because she’s the woman from hell and always will be. May then says she’ll remind Storm that for the rest of her life.
We then get a vignette highlighting The Gunns, who have been absent in recent months.
MVP then hypes up the AEW World Tag Team Champions The Hurt Syndicate in a video package.
We then get a video package hyping up AEW International Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita.
We then head to the back, where The Vendetta (Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie) is talking about the main event and Deonna says she should be challenging for the title. Purrazzo then says Harley Cameron belongs to them and Valkyrie says they’re coming to collect.
We then get the entrances of the main event, which is an AEW TBS Championship Match.
The match starts off with both women locking up. Sakazaki then stands on the floor and avoids Moné’s sliding kick attempt. Sakazaki then spins Moné around and makes a silly face at her. Sakazaki then hits Moné with an enzuigiri and then goes up top. Moné then moves, causing Sakazaki to drop. Moné then trips Sakazaki on the apron, causing Sakazaki to fall to the floor. Moné then hits Sakazaki with a Meteora.
Sakazaki then rallies and evades a second Meteora in the corner. Sakazaki then keeps rolling with a flurry of offense. Yuka then evades the Moné Maker and kicks the champion. Sakazaki then slams Moné for a two count. Moné then hits a Backstabber and traps Yuka in the Statement Maker. Sakazaki then escapes and hits Moné with an elbow strike. Sakazaki ten goes for a splash, but Moné gets the knees up. Moné then hits the Moné Maker for the win.

After the match, Moné stands tall and celebrates her win as the show comes to a close.
