Tonight’s AEW Dynamite airing April 23, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. The show sees Jamie Hayter take on Kris Statlander in an Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Semifinals Match. Plus, “The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey faces The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) in a Tag Team Match.
The show kicks off at 8:00 PM ET on TBS and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like Max. The show opens up with Tony Schiavone standing in the ring. He then introduces Master P and Master P makes his way down to the ring. Master P does his “UHHHH!” bit and he introduces new AEW World Trios Champions The Opps. The Opps (Samoa Joe, HOOK and Powerhouse Hobbs) then make their way down to the ring as Master P does more of his bit. Samoa and Master P did some call and response with the crowd and Joe says they were there to celebrate. Joe then thanks Master P for everything he does for the City of New Orleans and they plug his charity for Student Athletes.
Before Joe can formally begin his celebration, the Death Riders music plays and Marina Shafir walks out through the crowd. They swarm The Opps in the ring using Shafir as a distraction and Moxley chokes Joe against the ropes. Moxley then comes face to face with Master P, but before he can do anything Joe locks in the Coquina clutch from behind. Master P then manages to get in a few cheap shots to the gut. He then narrates the events as Jon Moxley is put to sleep.
The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada then make their way down and bail out Moxley by hitting Joe with a chair. As Moxley gets to his feet, Marina Shafir makes her way back to the ring and ushers Moxley away to prevent him from speaking with The Young Bucks. Swerve Strickland’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring to run off The Bucks. Kenny Omega’s music then hits and he walks out on stage. The Young Bucks and Death Riders then bail out from the ringside area and head to the back through the crowd. The Opps are left standing tall with Omega and Swerve. Joe then gets on the microphone and addresses Jon Moxley. Joey says if he wanted him, he’s got him and he will choke him out and take back his AEW World Championship.
We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing with The Patriarchy and new ROH World TV Champion Nick Wayne. Paquette congratulates Nick, but Christian takes the title and the credit for Wayne winning the Championship. He asks Wayne if he understand what happens when he listens to him and Wayne retorts that this is what would have happened for him if he stuck with the plan. Christian then says he loves his family and walks away.
Ricochet then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Mark Briscoe follows.
The match starts off with Briscoe hitting a series of punches on Ricochet. Briscoe then sends Ricochet to the floor with a front kick and follows it up with a scissor kick through the ropes. They then battle on the floor and the apron, with Ricochet hitting a pump kick on Briscoe. Ricochet then taunts the crowd, which gives Briscoe an opportunity to hit a dropkick. Both men then work back into the ring and Ricochet is able to pull the referee in front of himself as Briscoe attacks. Ricochet then takes some cheap shots and tosses Briscoe to the floor.
Briscoe then counters a top rope jumping attack with a Manhattan Drop. Briscoe then follows it up with a flying forearm and a running lariat. He then goes for a Fisherman Buster and covers for a near fall. Ricochet then starts a comeback, but it is interrupted quickly by a suplex. Briscoe then looks for a Froggy Boy, but Ricochet avoids it. He then hits a springboard 450 for a near fall. Ricochet then goes back up to the top rope. Ricochet then pauses briefly and Briscoe meets him in the corner to battle. Both men then hit the ropes and Briscoe turns Ricochet inside out with a big lariat. He tries to hit a Jay Driller, but Ricochet avoids it. He then tries to roll up Briscoe using the ropes, but Briscoe turns it around and gets the win with a stacked pin.

After the match, Ricochet takes out his frustration on Briscoe with a chair. He then grabs the golden scissors, but that brings out Kevin Knight to make the save. Ricochet then takes a shot at Knight, but he ducks and punches Ricochet in the face. Knight then gets the scissors and Ricochet runs off. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express are then shown in the crowd.
Stokely Hathaway then makes his way out to the ramp-way and he introduces FTR. FTR then make their way out and they all make their way down to the ring together and join Tony Schiavone in the ring. Hathaway says “Hangman” Adam Page has committed arson, Ricochet uses his scissors to hurt people and all of what Jon Moxley does is crimes. Hathaway then says he’ll have Cash Wheeler’s suspension from AEW expunged from his permanent record. Wheeler then says what happened last week with Daniel Garcia wasn’t easy for him and Dax Harwood. Wheeler then says Garcia made his own decision and 2.0 were the ones who said they wanted to fight FTR. Wheeler then says 2.0 weren’t ready to fight and Harwood and himself put AEW and Cope before themselves but that won’t be happen any longer.
Harwood then shouts out Rock N’ Roll Express and invites them into the ring. Harwood then says the Rock N’ Roll Express are one of the greatest tag teams of all time and asks them what they think their greatest match was, then shares that his favorite Rock N’ Roll Express was their match against the Midnight Express. Harwood then says that the Midnight Express was a better tag team than the Rock N’ Roll Express, then makes fun of their age. Ricky Morton then cuts Harwood off and says he and Robert Gibson will not be disrespected, but FTR attacks the Rock N’ Roll Express and hits an assisted piledriver on Morton. The Paragon (AEW TNT Champion Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong) then make their way down to the ring to come to the aid of the Rock N’ Roll Express.
The Young Bucks then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight follow.
The match starts off with Knight and Bailey getting an early advantage and sending the Bucks to the floor, then hitting a double team splash to the floor. The Bucks then turn things around quickly. They cut off the ring and begin a double team of Mike Bailey. Bailey then counters a vertical suplex into a rollup for a two count. Nick Jackson then runs to the ring and knocks Kevin Knight off the apron. Bailey then takes down both the Young Bucks with a series of lightning fast kicks. Knight then tags in and hits a flurry of offense on Matt Jackson. Bailey and Knight then gets caught in a double Northern Lights Suplex that cut off their momentum. Matt Jackson then hits a sit out powerbomb on Knight and gets a close near fall.
Knight then makes a tag to Bailey, who eats a DDT as soon as he enters the ring. Nick Jackson then tags in and eats a kick. This then set up a series of kicks that results in everyone being down on the mat. Matt Jackson is then cleared from the ring and Knight and Bailey hits a backstabber and powerbomb combo on Nick Jackson. Matt then returns to break up the pinfall. Bailey then keeps Matt Jackson busy on the outside while Knight hits a UFO drop on Nick. Matt then battles back and shoves Bailey into Knight in order to break up the fall. Everybody then ends up back out on the floor, where The Bucks hit a Doomsday Device from the ring barricade to the floor. Bailey then tries to hit a moonsault on the both of them, but gets caught and is hit with the Meltzer Driver.
Knight then tries to take on both members of The Bucks and manages to hit a double DDT. He then sets up for a Springboard, but Ricochet interferes to trip him up. This then leads to a BTE Trigger from the Bucks, who covers knight for the win.

We then head to the back, where Renee Paquette is interviewing AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. Storm wishes the semifinalists of the Owen Hart Cup the best of luck before addressing her appearance at the TCM red carpet. Storm then issues an open challenge that is quickly answered by Queen Aminata for AEW Collision on Saturday. Storm then heads off and Aminata is confused. Paquette then tells her she’ll do great.
The Hurt Syndicate (“The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley, “The Standard of Excellence” Shelton Benjamin and MVP) then make their way down to the ring. MVP grabs a mic and starts off by putting over Benjamin and Lashley as monsters. Before Lashley can get the microphone and speak, MJF is shown getting out of a sports car backstage. MJF then heads to the ring with a microphone. MJF says he knew they had a good time last week and if they wanted to have a great time for the rest of their lives he just needed three thumbs up. MVP then gives his first thumbs up and Benjamin gives his thumbs up reluctantly.
Benjamin then says he didn’t give MJF a thumbs up because of a bunch of broads and a watch, he did it because of MVP. MJF then says we all love MVP and our good friend Bob. Lashley then puts his thumbs in the middle and MJF asks for a second. MJF tells Lashley he brings a lot to the table and brings some things to the table that Bobby doesn’t. MJF then says he knows AEW better than anybody and cuts corners better than anybody. MJF then says if he’s in the syndicate they won’t just run AEW, they’ll run professional wrestling. MJF then says they got off on the wrong food and thought he wouldn’t accept blame. MJF then says he will do something he’s never done before. MJF then struggles, but eventually tells Bobby he’s sorry. MJF then offers Lashley the car he drove up in. Bobby then asks for the keys and MJF says they are in the back. Lashley then asks to see the car and they all head to the back. They all then surround MJF’s Corvette. Lashley and Benjamin then get in the car and drives off with the car while giving MJF a thumbs down.
We then head to the back, where Hangman Page is being interviewed about Kyle Fletcher. Page says he will put Fletcher in the ground on sight. MJF then shows up and says his haircut makes him look inbred. Hangman then says MJF hasn’t changed since he was 12. MJF then says he is going to stroll back into the World Title picture with the Hurt Syndicate and become a two time champion. Hangman then says MJF needs to do something after he beats his ass and he knows he can’t win matches or hang with him in the Owen. MJF then says they are 1-1 and if they meet again, he would send Sea-biscuit back to the Glue Factory. MJF then says if Hangman manages to make it to the finals of the Owen, he will do what he does best and choke him out. Page then says he will give MJF something to choke on and he walks off.
Will Ospreay and Brody King then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Josh Alexander and Konosuke Takeshita follow.
The match starts off with Takeshita and Alexander taking control in the early going and isolating Will Ospreay. Alexander then applies an ankle lock and hits a scoop slam when Ospreay scrambles free.Ospreay then responds with a head scissors and an arm drag. Brody King then tags in and uses his power to regain control. He then takes down both Alexander and Takeshita and hits a running senton. Ospreay then tags back in and attempts a dive out on the floor onto the Don Callis Family, but gets stuffed by Alexander and crashes to the floor.
Ospreay then battles back to break free of Alexander and makes a tag to King. Takeshita then tags in and Ospreay manages to take down both heels with a flipping kick. He then tags in King, who hits a big lariat on Takeshita. King then takes the action to the outside, where he sandwiches Takeshita and Alexander against the barricade. Ospreay then tags in and they hit a double team move on Takeshita. Alexander then fights back into the ring to break up the pin.
Takeshita then hits a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. King then hits another big Lariat on Alexander in the ring for a near fall. Lance Archer then jumps on the apron to distract Brody King. Ospreay then dives on Archer on the floor. Alexander then puts Ospreay down with a powerbomb and Takeshita hits a running lariat on King. Alexander and Takeshita then hit heavy rolling elbows on King simultaneously and Alexander covers for a close near fall. Alexander then follows it up with a C4 Spike on King for the win.

After the match, the attack continues on King. Ospreay tries to get back in to defend him, but gets put down with a chokeslam from Archer. Kyle Fletcher then heads down to the ring and claps for his team mates. They then wanted to continue the assault on Ospreay, but Hangman Page makes his way down to the ring to break it up. Before Hangman can get involved, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta jumps him from behind. The numbers game eventually catches up and Fletcher puts Hangman down with a Brainbuster.
Jamie Hayter then makes her way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Kris Statlander follows.
The match starts off with both women locking up. Both women then trade strikes with nobody getting a clear advantage. Hayter then hits a german suplex on Statlander. Hayter then hits a second rope dropkick on Statlander for a two count. Both women then trade reversals in the corner and Hayter is sent into the second turnbuckle face first. The action then spills to the apron, where Hayter is tripped to the floor. Statlander then looks for a moonsault, but crashes and burns to the floor. Hayter then follows it up with boot to Statlander’s face.
Hayter then wears Statlander down with a submission hold. Hayter then nails Statlander with an enzuigiri, but Statlander hits Hayter with a powerbomb and follows it up with a 450 Splash off the top rope. Statlander then goes for a pin, but Hayter kicks out. Hayter then hits the Hayter Line on Statlander for the win.

After the match, Mercedes Moné’s music hits and she makes her way out. Moné then stares down Hayter from the entrance ramp as the show comes to a close.
