Ilja Dragunov’s arrival in AEW looks closer than ever, and the company just dropped its strongest tease yet that something could be happening at WrestleDream.

On October 16, AEW released a new vignette featuring Dragunov training while conducting music, with several shots of a metronome mixed throughout the video.

The presentation follows the same mysterious style AEW previously used to tease Dragunov’s arrival, but this time the company added another major clue. AEW included the WrestleDream hashtag with the video, immediately connecting Dragunov’s impending debut to the October 17 pay-per-view.

Dragunov’s move to AEW had already been expected. It was previously reported on September 14 that the former WWE star was headed to the company following the end of his WWE run.

Dragunov departed WWE in September after his contract expired. He had been absent from WWE television since April, leaving plenty of questions about what his next move would be before AEW began rolling out the cryptic videos.

Now, with AEW directly tying its latest Dragunov teaser to WrestleDream, the company isn’t exactly being subtle about when fans should be paying attention.

AEW still hasn’t officially announced Dragunov for a match or appearance at WrestleDream, so there’s always room for plans to play out differently. Still, the timing of this latest video and the WrestleDream hashtag make Saturday’s pay-per-view the obvious place to watch.

Do you think Ilja Dragunov makes his AEW debut at WrestleDream, and who should be the first person standing across the ring from him? Let us know your thoughts and feedback.
