The October 3 episode of Collision is expected to be a great show and will build towards the Full Gear pay-per-view. That’s exactly why AEW has put together a strong lineup to keep fans entertained throughout the night.

Best-of-Five Series – Match Two: FTR vs. Motor City Machine Guns

The Motor City Machine Guns have the lead. Now FTR has to make sure it doesn’t get any bigger. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin won the opening match of their Best-of-Five Series against Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler during the WrestleDream Tailgate Brawl, putting MCMG up 1-0.

Tonight brings match two, and the situation is already pretty simple for FTR. Win and the series is tied. Lose and they’re suddenly down 2-0 with Shelley and Sabin needing only one more victory to finish the whole thing.

These are two of the most experienced tag teams around, so neither side is likely to panic after one match. Still, FTR probably doesn’t want to find out what trying to come back from 2-0 against the Motor City Machine Guns feels like.

Swerve Strickland vs. Myron Reed

Swerve Strickland is going back to singles competition tonight. Swerve is coming off WrestleDream, where he teamed with Kofi and Austin Creed to successfully retain the AEW World Trios Championship against Hangman Adam Page and Brodido in a Two-Out-of-Three Falls Match.

Now he gets Myron Reed one-on-one. Reed recently had a major opportunity of his own when he challenged Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier. He couldn’t get past Okada, but beating Swerve would be a pretty quick way to put himself right back into the conversation. Swerve, meanwhile, has spent plenty of time around the World Title picture before. Another singles run has to start somewhere.

Divine Dominion vs. Wrathlander

Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron already have a Women’s Tag Team Championship match waiting for them at Full Gear. Divine Dominion would probably love to mess with those plans.

Wrathlander will challenge Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship at Full Gear, but things got messy on Wednesday when Megan Bayne and Lena Kross joined the Sisters of Sin in attacking both Wrathlander and the Brawling Birds. Now Statlander and Cameron get Bayne and Kross in a proper match.

Divine Dominion has been trying to get itself back into the championship picture since losing those titles to the Brawling Birds and failing to win them back. Beating the team that’s already next in line would give Bayne and Kross a pretty strong reason to demand another opportunity. For Wrathlander, it’s a chance to deal with Divine Dominion before turning its full attention toward the champions.

Jay White Speaks

Jay White has some explaining to do after what happened Wednesday. The Bang Bang Gang aligned itself with The Dogs on Dynamite-Collision, creating a new situation around White and his group as AEW starts moving toward Full Gear.

Tonight, Switchblade gets the microphone. AEW hasn’t announced exactly what White plans to address, but after the Bang Bang Gang’s decision on Wednesday, there should be plenty for him to talk about and potentially a much clearer idea of what this new alliance actually means.
