Adam Pearce is stepping back into control of WWE SmackDown after Gunther left Nick Aldis unable to run the show.

Pearce announced on social media that he will serve as the acting general manager for the July 17 episode of SmackDown. The temporary change comes one week after Gunther attacked Aldis and took him out during SmackDown. With Aldis unavailable, WWE is once again turning to the Raw general manager to keep Friday night under control.

This is not Pearce’s first time filling in for Aldis. He previously took charge of SmackDown following Night of Champions after Aldis was suspended over his confrontation with Gunther. Gunther has now forced another shakeup in WWE management, leaving Pearce to deal with the fallout and whatever chaos comes with running both brands.

The only item currently announced for the July 17 episode is Pearce serving as acting general manager, with more matches and segments expected to be revealed before the show.

Gunther may have removed Nick Aldis from the picture, but putting Adam Pearce in charge could create an entirely different problem for everyone on SmackDown.

What do you think Adam Pearce will do while running SmackDown, and how should WWE handle Gunther after his attack on Nick Aldis? Share your thoughts and leave your feedback in the comments.
