Adam Pearce spends his life around WWE, but once the company cameras stop rolling, don’t expect him to fire up another wrestling show.
The RAW General Manager revealed during an interview with Love Wrestling that he doesn’t watch wrestling outside of the WWE programming he’s personally involved with. Pearce knows that admission probably won’t sit well with hardcore fans, but he wasn’t interested in pretending otherwise.
“I do not. This will piss wrestling fans off, but I will tell you the truth. If my fingerprints are not on the product, I do not watch the product.”
Pearce made it clear he wasn’t exaggerating either. He said he hasn’t watched wrestling outside of RAW, SmackDown, Saturday Night’s Main Event, or WWE premium live events that he’s actually working. And Pearce isn’t apologizing for being all-in on WWE. He flat-out described himself as a company man who knows exactly who signs his checks.
“People do not believe me when I say that, but I have not watched a second of wrestling outside of Raw or SmackDown or Saturday Night’s Main Event or a pay-per-view or a PLE that I’m working on.”
“I’m passionate and devoted to my company. I am a company man, corporate through and through. I know who signs my check, and I do as they say and collect my pay.”
That means AEW, TNA, independent wrestling and basically anything else outside the WWE bubble apparently isn’t taking up space on Pearce’s television. It’s an interesting admission considering Pearce spent decades around wrestling before becoming one of WWE’s most visible authority figures. These days, though, his attention is firmly on the product he helps put together.
Adam Pearce isn’t scouting the competition or spending his nights catching up on every wrestling show available. If he isn’t involved with it, he says he isn’t watching it.
