Adam Copeland won’t be wrestling when he appears on the September 2 episode of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling’s Mayhem—but he isn’t stopping by just to wave at the crowd. The AEW World Tag Team Champion will come face-to-face with Steve Maclin.
The confrontation comes ahead of Copeland’s appearance at MLP Northern Rising in October. That event will take place at the historic Maple Leaf Gardens, but the company still hasn’t revealed exactly what Copeland will be doing there.
His meeting with Maclin could provide the answer. Whether it leads to a match, a fight or something else at Northern Rising remains to be seen, but MLP is clearly using September 2 to get that story moving.
The episode will also feature Jody Threat making her MLP debut. Michael Allen Richard Clark will face Zach Gowen, while Ace Austin takes on Jonathan Gresham.
Copeland may not be scheduled to compete on Mayhem, but putting him across from Maclin gives fans a clear reason to watch. If things get physical, MLP could walk out of the show with a major Northern Rising match on its hands.
