Following the fallout from the first week of Noche de Los Grandes, Lucha Libre AAA returns to Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico for another loaded night of action. With new champions crowned and a new authority figure in place, the company is looking to keep its momentum rolling.
New AAA General Manager and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio is scheduled to address the AAA roster and fans during a special interview segment. Mysterio made his presence felt during last week’s show, and now fans are waiting to hear what he has planned for AAA moving forward.
The featured match of the night will see NXT Women’s Champion and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion Lola Vice team with Bayley and La Catalina against Reina de Reinas Champion Lady Flammer, La Hiedra, and Lady Maravilla in six-woman tag team action. With several champions involved, this bout could have major implications for multiple divisions.
A new challenger for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship will also be determined as Mini Vikingo, Octagón Jr., Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Lince Dorado battle in a Fatal 5-Way Match. Rey Fenix captured the championship last week, and one of these competitors will earn the next opportunity at the title.
The show kicks off at 10:00 PM ET on FOX in Latin America and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and WWE digital platforms. Ringside News will provide live, match-by-match updates and highlights throughout the night. AAA World Cruiserweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Match: Mini Vikingo vs. Octagón Jr. vs. Joaquin Wilde vs. Cruz Del Toro vs. Lince Dorado
The match started fast, with Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro briefly working together against Mini Vikingo. They tossed him around with suplexes and sent him to the outside. Wilde then tried to steal a quick win with a roll-up on Del Toro, but only got a two count.
Del Toro, Lince Dorado, and Octagón Jr. all tried to get quick pinfalls, but nobody could keep anyone down. Octagón hit a diving armdrag from the top rope, while Dorado fought back and sent him to the outside.
That opened the door for Vikingo to return. Dorado tried to get him up on his shoulders, but Vikingo countered into a headscissors takedown. Vikingo also took down Octagón, but Wilde stopped his momentum by grabbing his ankle from the outside.
Del Toro then hit a tornado move from the top rope that took out Dorado, Octagón, and Wilde. That left him alone with Vikingo, but Vikingo countered a pop-up powerbomb attempt.
Dorado later hit a double stunner on Wilde and Del Toro, but Wilde dropped him with a DDT. Dorado recovered and hit Wilde with a brainbuster, followed by a shooting star press. With everyone else down on the outside, Dorado made the cover and got the three count.
Winner: Lince Dorado defeated Mini Vikingo, Octagón Jr., Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz Del Toro to become the new #1 contender to Rey Fenix’s AAA Cruiserweight Championship.
General Manager Rey Mysterio announced to reporters that the AAA Mega Champion will defend the title on night two of TripleMania 34 in Mexico City. TripleMania 34 will be a two-night event in September. Night one takes place in Las Vegas on September 11, and night two will take place in Mexico City on September 13.
Dominik Mysterio is the current AAA Mega Champion after winning the title from El Hijo Del Vikingo at Worlds Collide last September. That means Dominik is currently set to defend the championship at TripleMania, as long as he still has the title by then. El Grande Americano is also waiting for his title shot. He earned an AAA Mega Championship match after winning the Rey de Reyes tournament a few weeks ago.
Lola Vice, Bayley & La Catalina vs. Lady Flammer, La Hiedra & Lady Maravilla
Las Tóxicas came to the ring in cheerleader outfits, which got a big reaction from JBL. Bayley also came out to a strong response. Even though she used her “Role Model” music, the Mexico crowd treated her like the old Hugger version of Bayley. Lola Vice and La Catalina also received big ovations.
Lady Flammer looked like she was going to start against La Catalina, but she backed away and tagged in Lady Maravilla instead. Maravilla stayed in for a short time before La Hiedra tagged in and was taken down by Catalina.
Lola Vice then tagged in and used her strikes to get a two count. She traded shots with Hiedra and got the better of the exchange. Vice then used her usual offense, which brought everyone into the ring. Las Tóxicas were taken down with a triple suplex and rolled to the outside.
Back in the ring, Hiedra slammed Vice’s head into the turnbuckle and trapped her in the Las Tóxicas corner. The team took turns tagging in and attacking Vice with strikes and slams. Flammer hit a meteora for a two count before knocking Bayley and Catalina off the apron. Flammer then hit Vice with a lariat for another two count and locked her in a submission. Vice eventually sent Flammer through the ropes and made the tag to Bayley.
Bayley came in hot and cleared the ring. She hit Hiedra with a DDT through the ropes, then dropped an elbow from the top rope on Maravilla, but Maravilla kicked out at two. Las Tóxicas came back with a triple-team attack, ending with a dropkick from Flammer. Catalina broke up the pin, then traded words with Flammer while the referee tried to restore order.
Bayley eventually tagged in Catalina, who hit a moonsault from the top rope onto Flammer. Maravilla and Hiedra got involved, but Bayley took Maravilla down with a suplex. Catalina and Flammer became legal, and Catalina hit a hip attack followed by a running knee. She covered Flammer and got the three count for her team.
Winner: Lola Vice, Bayley & La Catalina defeated Las Tóxicas.
This concluded tonight’s show.
