Tonight’s WWE SmackDown, airing June 20, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The show sees Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena face Ron “R-Truth” Killings in a Non-Title Match. Plus, “The Viper” Randy Orton will take on Sami Zayn in a King of the Ring Tournament Semifinal Round Match.
The show kicks off at 8:00 PM ET on the USA Network and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like Netflix. The show opens up with Joe Tessitore welcoming us, while we get a shot of the exterior of the host venue. We then see Randy Orton and Sami Zayn walking into the arena. We then cut to Alexa Bliss backstage and to Asuka in the arena parking lot. Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo are then shown walking into the arena and Ron “R-Truth” Killings is shown walking with his luggage.
LA Knight’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring as he was introduced by ring announcer Mark Nash. Wade Barrett then welcomes us to the show and narrates highlights of Jey Uso winning a Fatal 4-Way on Monday’s RAW with help from Knight and other babyfaces who fought off several heels.
We get a loud “LA Knight” chant from the crowd and he tells the fans let me talk to you. Knight then talks about Money in the Bank, where Seth Rollins’ boys made their way out and screwed him. Knight then says he usually lets things slide, but he couldn’t let that slide as he had to screw one of Rollins’ boys out of King of the Ring. Knight then says they also screwed him out of King of the Ring and he screwed the other one out of King of the Ring. Knight then says it got him thinking that there is only one way this can go. Knight then says RAW, SmackDown, where it ends, nobody knows except him. Knight then says he knows where it ends and it ends with him and Seth Rollins. Knight then says what better place than here and what better time than now. Knight then calls Rollins out to the ring.
WWE Hall of Fame Paul Heyman then says ladies and gentlemen and he makes his way out. Heyman then introduces himself and says he serves as the wiseman for Mr. Money in the Bank Seth “Freakin’” Rollins. The fans then boo and Heyman tells them they don’t boo that name. Knight then asks Heyman why he is out there tonight and Heyman asks Knight if he can get in the ring. The fans then chant “OTC” and Knight tells him to get in the ring. Heyman then says Knight is right and there has been a lot of bad blood between himself and Rollins. We then get a loud “CM Punk” chant from the crowd. Knight then tells Heyman he has a lot of enemies. Heyman then tells Knight that he happens to be, with all due respect to everyone, the biggest LA Knight fan in all of WWE and he has been waiting a long time to say this. Heyman then yells “Yeah” and because of that, Rollins has allowed him to tell Knight that it’s time for him to get the hell out of Michigan. The fans then boo and Heyman says if he doesn’t something really bad is going to happen to him before the end of this night. Heyman then tells Knight to have a nice evening and backs away.
The fans then chant “LA Knight” and Knight tells Heyman that he has to wrap his head around it. Knight then says he heard Heyman say he is a big fan of his before because Heyman is a liar and he leeches on to any talent that has a bit of talent and buzz. Knight then says Seth is the latest in those names. Knight then says he asked for Seth and he got a Heyman that is talking pretty tough. Knight then says it got him thinking about wiseman and wisdome. Knight then says but there was a time where he would have punched his wisdom teeth down his throat, but he won’t do that. Knight then says if he can’t bring him Seth Rollins, the only thing that can happen is him and Heyman right here and right now. Knight then asks the fans if they want to see that right now and the fans cheer. Knight then says he will turn his back, take his stuff off and let Heyman get his first shot. Knight then turns his back and Heyman leaves the ring. Heyman then tells Knight that the bad thing to happen to him tonight was not a prediction, that was a spoiler. Heyman then throws the microphone and out come Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. They both get in the ring and Knight starts to fight them off, but Bron takes Knight down. They then send him to the outside of the ring, but Knight grabs a chair and hits them both with it. Knight then gets in the ring as Heyman stops them.
We then see Paul Heyman with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Heyman says they have it under control and it is all under control. Byron Saxton then shows up and Breakker is about to attack him, but Heyman stops him. Saxton then tells them that he got word from Nick Aldis that tonight Bronson Reed will go one on one against LA Knight. Heyman then thanks him and Saxton leaves as Heyman tells Reed that patience is not a virtue, it’s a strategy.
Alexa Bliss then makes her way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Asuka follows.
The match starts off with Bliss cinching in a headlock, but Asuka sends her to the ropes and both women hit shoulder tackles on one another. Asuka then delivers some right hands on Bliss and she goes for a kick, but Bliss catches her and trips her. Bliss then hits a dropkick on Asuka and both women are back to their feet. Asuka then hits a running shoulder tackle on Bliss and Bliss gets on the ring apron. Asuka then hits a running hip attack on Bliss that knocks her down.
Bliss then delivers some right hands and a knee to Asuka’s face. Bliss then goes for a cover, but Asuka kicks out. Bliss then grabs Asuka, but Asuka delivers some forearms and kicks on Bliss, then follows it up with a German suplex. Asuka then hits a running knee to the face of Bliss and goes for the cover, but Bliss kicks out. Asuka then goes for a kick, but Bliss ducks and rolls her up but Asuka kicks out. Bliss then goes for Sister Abigail, but Asuka rolls her up and Bliss kicks out. Asuka then hits a kick to the side of Bliss’ head, but Bliss kicks out. Asuka then climbs the top rope and goes for a drop kick, but Bliss moves out of the way. Bliss then hits a DDT on Asuka and she goes for the cover, but Asuka kicks out.
Bliss then climbs the top rope and goes for Twisted Bliss, but Bliss jumps down. Bliss then tells Asuka not to move, but Asuka cinches in an arm bar. Bliss then rolls Asuka up, but Asuka kicks out. Asuka then hits a hang man’s neck breaker on Bliss. Asuka then goes for the cover, but Bliss kicks out. Bliss then runs to the ropes and hits a right hand on Asuka. Bliss then places Asuka in a tree of woe in the corner and hits a drop kick. Bliss then climbs the top rope and she goes for Twisted Bliss, but Asuka gets her knees up. Asuka then hits Bliss with the Empress Impact. Asuka then goes for the cover and gets the win.

We then see B-Fab backstage with Jade Cargill and Michin. B-Fab tells them that Asuka is back and made a statement. Michin then tells her they should talk to Nick Aldis about making an impact for the Women’s Tag Team titles. Byron Saxton then shows up and asks Cargill about her match against Roxanne Perez. Cargill tells Saxton that Perez has potential and she is quick and scrappy, but she is still trying to prove herself and this is not a training room. Cargill then says she is the storm and this tournament was not built for the future. Cargill then says she is not walking in just to win, she is walking in to reign.
We then see The Secret Hervice with Alexa Bliss. Chelsea Green tells Bliss she should have been in that tournament. Charlotte Flair then shows up and she tells Green that she should be in the Queen of the Ring tournament and had it not been for her replacement, she would be in it. Green then leaves as Bliss tells Flair she didn’t need her help and Flair tells her she wasn’t going to help her.
Kit Wilson is now in the ring for his match with Aleister Black. As Black is making his way down to the ring, R-Truth attacks Wilson from behind. Truth. then puts Wilson in the STF and grabs a microphone. Truth says “Get John Cena out here now” and that he is driving on his terms. Truth then puts Wilson in the STF once more and out come WWE officials to break it up. Jamie Noble then stops Truth and talks to him to calm him down. Truth and Noble then leave the ring and walk towards the back.
We then see clips of GUNTHER winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso. We then get highlights of this past week’s RAW and we the return of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.
We then see Jamie Noble with R-Truth and Truth tells Noble he wants Cena. Aleister Black then shows up and asks Truth why he is getting involved in his matches. Truth then tells Black it’s nothing personal and it has nothing to do with him. Both men are now face to face and Damian Priest shows up. Priest tells Black that Truth is going through a lot and to let him talk to Truth. Black then leaves and Priest tells him he gets it as he used to do that, but Truth was the guy that used to make him smile. Priest then tells Truth to use that anger and negativity and to focus it on his match with John Cena and after that, they can go out and celebrate. Truth then tells Priest that sounds good and shakes his hand.
Cody Rhodes’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Rhodes plays to the crowd and is about to speak, but he is interrupted by Jey Uso’s entrance music. Jey Uso makes his way down to the ring through the crowd and does his Yeet routine with a young girl. Uso then picks up a young boy and does another round of his Yeet routine before heading down the steps and eventually to the ring. Rhodes smiles as he watches Uso continue his entrance routine inside the ring. Rhodes and Uso then hug. The crowd wants more, so Uso gives them an encore.
Uso’s song is cut off and Uso tells Rhodes that they are in the trenches. and they have both been to the mountain top. Uso then tells Rhodes that this Monday, there is only room for one of them. Uso then says he knows Rhodes will bring it. Uso then says it is not personal, it is business. Uso then says with that being said, on Monday night after they go to war, it’s going to be four letters one word, Yeet. Rhodes and Uso then hug as Sami Zayn’s music hits and he makes his way out. Zayn says this is nice and he gets to share the ring with two friends, with two of the very best this business has to offer. Zayn then says he would be lying if he said there was a part of him that said he was not aware that out of the three of them, only one has not won the World Championship. Zayn then tells Uso that this year he had to miss WrestleMania and he got his ass on a plane for one reason and that was to congratulate Uso when he won the title. Zayn then tells Uso that he loves him and he is proud of him. Zayn then tells Rhodes that for years, they waited for him to finish his story and when he did, he was the first one to run through the ropes and congratulate him. Zayn then tells them both that he hopes they understand that now he has to finish his story.
Randy Orton’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Orton tells Rhodes that there is no line that he won’t cross, even if it means going through him to face John Cena at SummerSlam. Orton then tells Uso that he respects him and their families go way back and he has nothing but love, but if Uso is standing in front of him, it will be three letters and one move. Orton then says he can speak for himself, Cody, Jey and everyone in the arena when he says that one day soon Sami Zayn will be World Champion. Orton then says SummerSlam is not that day because tonight he will be on the receiving end of the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment, RKO.
The match starts off with Zayn hitting some chops on Orton in the corner, but Orton moves out of the way and leaves the ring. Orton then gets back in the ring and pushes Zayn in the corner. Orton then hits a poke to Zayn’s eyes and the referee doesn’t see it. Orton then delivers some right hands on Zayn and Zayn hits a poke to the eyes of Orton and he sends Orton to the outside of the ring. Zayn is on the ring apron, but Orton trips him up and he grabs Zayn. Orton then slams Zayn onto the announce desk. The fans then chant “one more time” and Orton lifts Zayn up and slams him once more onto the desk.
Zayn then hits a clothesline on Orton. Zayn then climbs the second rope and hits a double axe. Zayn then goes for the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Orton lands on his feet and hits a clothesline. Zayn then goes to the ropes and Orton hits a snap powerslam. Zayn is on the ring apron and Orton drags him onto the second rope and hits him with the draping DDT. Orton is about to go for the RKO, but Zayn rolls out of the ring. Orton then goes to the outside and he slams Zayn’s face onto the announce desk.Orton then goes to slam Zayn on the announce desk, but Zayn lands on his feet and slams Orton onto the desk.
Zayn then sends Orton back into the ring and Orton goes for a spear in the corner, but Zayn moves out of the way. Orton then hits the ring post and Zayn goes for the Helluva Kick, but Orton hits a snap powerslam. Orton then goes for the cover, but Zayn kicks out. Orton then goes for the RKO, but Zayn ducks and hits the Blue Thunder Bomb. Zayn then goes for the cover, but Orton kicks out. Zayn then climbs the top rope and jumps, but Orton moves and Zayn lands on his feet. Orton then goes for the RKO, but Zayn slams him onto the mat. Zayn then goes for the Helluva Kick, but Orton hits him with the RKO. Orton then goes for the cover and gets the win.

Nia Jax’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Jax says it’s crazy that Tiffany Stratton approached her to be under her wing because she knew what she could do for her. Jax says Stratton is thriving, but the thanks she got was she got betrayed and Stratton has her title. Tiffany Stratton’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Stratton tells Jax that she is like a toxic ex she can’t get away from. Stratton then tells Jax to get over it and she keeps making excuses. Stratton then says Jax should admit she is better than her. Jax then tells Stratton that if she is so much better than her, why doesn’t she give her a rematch. Stratton then says she just made it official for next week and she will have a lot of fun adding more scars to her head and this is a Last Woman Standing Match. Jax then goes for a right hand, but Stratton ducks. Stratton then goes to the ropes, but Jax hits her with a spinebuster and follows it up with a leg drop. Jax then raises the title belt in the air with the fans booing her.
Naomi’s music then hits and she runs out with a referee. Naomi is about to cash in, but Jax pulls her under the ring. Naomi then gets back on the ring apron and Jax drags her back down. Naomi then yells at Jax and gets back on the ring apron. Stratton then dropkicks Naomi and Naomi falls onto Jax on the outside of the ring. Stratton then raises her title in the air with her music playing. Stratton then tosses the briefcase to ringside and makes her exit.
We then get a video package looking at the differences between John Cena and CM Punk.
Chelsea Green then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night with Piper Niven and Alba Fyre and Charlotte Flair follows.
The match starts off with Green attacking Flair and slamming her face first onto the mat. Green then grabs Flair, but Flair delivers some chops to her chest. Flair then gets on the top rope and she hits a cross body. Flair then goes for the cover, but Green kicks out. Flair then hits a kick to the side of Green’s head and the referee checks up on Green. Fyre then gets on the ring apron and hangs Flair up on the top rope. Green then slams Flair onto the mat. Green then goes for the cover, but Flair kicks out.
Flair then hits some chops to the chest of Green and follows it up with a fall away slam. Flair then goes for the Figure Four, but Fyre gets on the ring apron and Flair hits her with a big boot that takes her down. Flair then turns around and Green hits her with a leg lariat. Green then goes for the cover, but Flair kicks out. Green then takes off her protective mask and goes for the Unprettier, but Flair pushes Green to the ropes and hits her with a spear. Flair then goes for the cover, but Green kicks out. Flair then goes for the Figure Four, but Green rolls her up and Flair kicks out. Flair then gets to her feet and cinches in the Figure Eight. Green then taps out and the referee rings the bell.

After the match, Piper Niven hits a senton on Flair and Alexa Bliss makes her way out to make the save. Flair and Bliss then attack The Secret Hervice and both of them stand in the ring. Flair then walks pass Bliss and Bliss looks angry as Flair’s music hits and she leaves the ring.
We then head to the back, where JC Mateo is taping up his hand. Solo Sikoa then asks Mateo what he is doing and Mateo tells him he wants to take out Jacob Fatu. Sikoa then tells Mateo no he won’t and that he will talk to him. Sikoa then says Fatu needs him, but he tells Mateo to be ready.
Solo Sikoa’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Once Sikoa was in the ring, he tells Jacob Fatu that he is in the ring alone with open arms. Sikoa then asks Fatu to come out so they can clear the air. WWE United States Champion “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu’s music then hits and he makes his way out, then joins Sikoa in the ring. Sikoa then tells Fatu he didn’t come out to fight him, he wants to make it very clear that he loves him. Sikoa then says one thing he learned about being Tribal Chief was how to love and take care of your family. Sikoa then says that is all he is trying to do. Sikoa then says families fight all the time and they fight, they argue, they forgive and they move forward. Sikoa then tells Fatu to move forward together as one.
Sikoa then tells Fatu that no one saw the potential in him except for him. Sikoa then says no one wanted him there except him. Sikoa then says that is why he brought him there, gave him the opportunity to change his life and put food on the table for his family. Sikoa then tells Fatu that he did that because he loves him. Sikoa then says to be honest, he doesn’t have anybody else and all he has is him. Sikoa then tells Fatu he is all he needs. Sikoa then tells Fatu to come back to the family and even if Fatu doesn’t say the four words, he will accept him. Sikoa then tells Fatu that he loves him. Fatu then asks Sikoa he loves him. Fatu then says this is what it comes down to, Sikoa loving him. Fatu then tells Sikoa that the way he sees things, he has been using him to gain power, to fight his battles and using him so that he can stay Tribal Chief. Fatu then says Sikoa brought him in so he can bring him fame and gold. Fatu then tells Sikoa to look at him when he is speaking to him.
The fans then chant “Fatu” and both men are face to face. Fatu then tells Sikoa that ever since he won the U.S Title, he is the one that has been acting different. Fatu then says maybe he is not the problem, the problem is the United States Title. Fatu then places the title between himself and Sikoa on the mat. Fatu then says that’s the reason and he tells Sikoa to fight him for it. Fatu then tells Sikoa that he is only going to warn him one time. Fatu then says if Sikoa ever thinks of going his way, he knows what Fatu is all about. Fatu then says Sikoa knows that he is all gas and no brakes. Sikoa is about to go for a Solo Spike, but Fatu blocks him and hits him with a head butt. JC Mateo then makes his way out, but Fatu hits him with a head butt. Sikoa then hits a chop to the knee of Fatu and both men double team him in the corner.
Jimmy Uso’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Uso then hits a super kick on both JC Mateo and Solo Sikoa. Uso then turns around and Mateo hits him with a clothesline. Fatu then gets to his feet and he takes out both Mateo and Sikoa. Fatu then hits a running hip attack on Sikoa in the corner. Fatu then looks at Uso and they both look at Sikoa. Fatu then climbs the second rope, but Sikoa rolls to the outside of the ring as Fatu’s music hits.
Bronson Reed then makes his way down to the ring with Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman for the next match of the night. LA Knight’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring from the broadcast side of the venue.
The match starts off with LA Knight attacking Bron Breakker from behind who is at ringside. Knight then gets in the ring and sends Reed to the outside. Reed then gets in the ring. Knight then delivers some right hands on Reed and he gets Reed in the corner and stomps on him. Knight then hits a kick to the face of Reed and he grabs Reed, but Reed sends Knight onto the ring apron. Knight then jumps over the top rope and Reed catches him. Knight then lands on his feet and goes for a jumping neck breaker, but Reed holds onto the ropes. Reed then goes for a senton, but Knight moves out of the way. Knight is about to go for an elbow, but Reed rolls to the outside of the ring. Knight then hits a baseball slide. Knight then jumps off the second rope and hits a cross body.
Knight then hits a leaping elbow drop. Knight then goes for the cover, but Reed kicks out. Knight then goes for BFT, but Reed hits him with a head butt and follows it up with a jagged edge. Reed then goes for the cover, but Knight kicks out. Reed then lifts Knight up, but Knight reverses it into a DDT. Breakker then gets on the ring apron and Knight knocks him down. Reed is then sent to the outside of the ring. Knight then runs to the ropes, but Breakker gets in the ring and hits him with a spear as the referee calls for the bell.

After the match, Reed holds Knight up and Breakker runs to the ropes and hits him with a spear. Breakker then holds Knight down and Reed hits him with a Tsunami. Reed then climbs the top rope once more and hits another Tsunami. Reed then climbs the top rope once more as WWE officials get in the ring, but Breakker pushes them away and Reed hits another Tsunami. Reed, Breakker and Heyman then all head to the back.
We then see Jacob Fatu in the backstage area and he says he just spoke to the man and next Saturday at Night of Champions, it’s him against Solo for the U.S Title. Fatu then says he is going to dog walk Sikoa’s ass.
R-Truth then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night. John Cena’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Cena then asks for his music to be cut and tells Mark Nash to announce him as he does every time.
The match starts off with R-Truth hitting a take down on John Cena and he follows that up with right hands, but Cena rolls to the outside of the ring. R-Truth then delivers some right hands on Cena and slams Cena face first onto the announce desk. Truth then grabs Cena and slams him face first into the ring apron and Cena slides back into the ring. Truth then slams Cena back first into the turnbuckle and Cena drops to the mat.
Cena then hits the five knuckle shuffle on Truth. Cena then goes for the AA, but Truth lands on his feet. Truth then delivers some right hands on Cena and follows it up with a splash in the corner and Cena rolls to the outside of the ring. Cena then grabs his title and begins to walk away, but Truth chases after him. Truth then delivers some right hands on Cena and Cena hits him with the title and the referee calls for the bell.

After the match, CM Punk’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring with Cena. Cena then delivers some right hands and kicks on Punk. Punk then gets up and hits Cena with right hands. Punk then grabs the title and he goes to hit Cena with it, but Cena hits Punk with a kick and a low blow. Cena then grabs the title and he hits Punk with it in the face. Cena then goes to the outside of the ring and pulls a table from under the ring. Cena then slides the table into the ring and sets it up. Punk then gets up and Cena hits him with the title once more. Cena then gets Punk up on his shoulders and hits him with an Attitude Adjustment through the table. Cena then goes to the outside of the ring and grabs a microphone. Cena then gets back into the ring and begins to laugh. Cena then sits on the top rope and he tells Punk that as he lays there in his most uncomfortable, he hopes he can listen, he can digest because before he leaves here in six months with the WWE Championship, he has to get a whole lot of stuff off his chest.
Cena says first things first, he doesn’t hate Punk. Cena then says he doesn’t even dislike him, he likes him and he likes him more than anyone he has ever shared a locker room with. Cena then says he hates this idea of Punk being the best in the world, he’s not. Cena then says he is the greatest of all time. Cena then says Punk is better than him at one thing, Punk is the best bullshitter in the world. Cena then says oh no, he just dropped a curse word. Cena then tells to shoot this as he is breaking the fourth wall. Cena then says the truth is that he is jealous of Punk, he is jealous that he conned these people of believing this myth that he is the best in the world.
Cena then says the fans chant for Punk and they sing to him, but they don’t believe a God damn word he says. Cena then says because Punk changes his values as much as Cena changes his t-shirts. Cena then says Punk is an opportunist over the necks of people who break their necks. Cena then says says hi Claudio Castagnoli, Nick Nemeth and Matt Cardona. Cena then says there is no one back there that will cut his mic to save his ass because he is his only friend. Cena then asks Punk to remember who gave him the stage for his pipe bomb. Cena then asks Punk what he has done since then and he just repeated the same five promo words of doom. Cena then says Punk is no longer the voice of the voice less, he is a millionaire despite himself. Cena then says he is not punk, he is a capitalist. Cena then says is not against TKO, he is Mr. TKO. Cena then says they knocked his balls technically off his body. Cena then says his tweets are strong and his actions are weak. Cena then says in Saudi Arabia he is going to face some loud music when he proves to the world that each and every day, day in, day out, no days off for 25 years, he has been the greatest of all time.
The fans then chant “Cena” and he says the fans know. Cena then says they know that Punk was the best in the world for 7 minutes and 14 years ago. Cena then says if after Night of Champions Punk is still delusional enough to believe that he is the best in the world, he guesses it’s a small world after all. Cena then says “You’re welcome Grand Rapids” and the fans cheer. Cena then tells Punk to bring his A-Game at Night of Champions because if the mood tonight is any indication, the mood is starting to change. WWE officials then make their way out to check on Punk. Cena then says it’s fine, he won’t do any more damage. Cena then says Punk has a big title match. Cena then says the best in the world will go against the greatest of all time for the most coveted prize in sports entertainment, the WWE Undisputed Championship. Cena then says he knows you will sing and chant, but even the idiots are smart enough to see the truth and that is that the Champ is here. Cena then raises his title and says “USA, you can keep the next 2 half minutes, I don’t need a bomb, Elvis has left the mother fudging building”. Cena then thanks Punk for letting him steal his promo to make him look even more foolish. Cena’s music then hits and he climbs the second rope, raising the title in the air as fans cheer. Cena then walks to the stage and blows a kiss as the show comes to a close.
