Ric Flair became a subject of controversy recently after his offensive tweets about Jim Ross and then defending those tweets. It’s very clear there are many who are still upset with him, as Flair has been called out for being the ultimate narcissist following his bizarre tweets.

While speaking on the Stevie Richards Show, Stevie Richards talked about Ric Flair’s recent tweets where Flair accused Jim Ross of being an attention seeker. Richards said it was ironic because no one craves attention more than Ric Flair. He even suggested that the first tweet might have been made while he was drunk.

“Much like, uh, I guess the ultimate deflection of this tweet, right? Basically saying that JR is an attention— you know, an attention who**, seeking attention, but there’s nobody in the world that is more of an attention who** than Ric Flair. And speaking of alcohol, I would guess this tweet, the first one at least, has to do maybe with being connected to some alcohol consumption.”

Richards was upset that Flair would make such a comment about Jim Ross, especially while Ross is battling cancer. Even though Flair later claimed it was a joke, Richards didn’t believe him. He pointed out that Ross is fighting for his life and will always worry about the cancer coming back, so what Flair said was just wrong.

“This is a dude I—I mean, come on. What are you doing making—even if you say a day later it’s a joke, this guy’s literally fighting for his life against cancer. Whether or not the surgery was a success, it goes into remission. Jim Ross has to worry about this coming back for the rest of his life. So, and you make a joke that he’s only doing it to get attention, which I don’t believe the initial tweet was a joke.”

Stevie Richards believes Flair is hurting himself with this kind of behavior and called the whole situation incredibly tone-deaf, especially for something posted in 2025. Even if someone else posted it for Flair, it’s still a bad look for him.

Richards added that the message was unclear; either Flair was making a terrible joke about Jim Ross’ cancer or seriously believes Ross is using it to get attention. Either way, Richards thought it was stupid and unnecessary.

“Ric Flair feels the need to go scorched earth on everybody around him, including himself, because he’s only hurting himself in the end. It’s incredibly tone-deaf obviously, you know, outside of any allegations or anything like that. Just to put that up in 2025 in any shape, form, or fashion. Someone else probably created it. Maybe Ric told him to create it or they saw it and he thought it was great and put it up. But then for some reason, how does the tone change from that? And you’re right, I’m looking at this joke that if you can’t take a joke from a 76-year-old man, I don’t think he— I think he is talking about that photo that he put up and not the JR thing.

So he’s 100% either you’re joking in a really tone-deaf way about JR or you’re still 100% serious that you think he’s just seeking attention by talking about his cancer diagnosis and treatment. Which is it going to be? Either way, it sucks. It’s stupid.”

Richards ended by saying that it’s hard to feel sympathy for Ric Flair when Flair doesn’t show any for others. He called Flair the ultimate narcissist, someone who only cares about getting all the attention. In the end, Richards believes Flair got exactly what he wanted: people talking about him, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons.

“You know, you try to have empathy and sympathy for another human being. You’re trying to understand, you know, not letting go when it comes to under the last match or whatever the last match is going to be. But this stuff, you can’t be sympathetic or empathetic to a person like Ric Flair who has no sympathy or empathy for another human being. He is a narcissist. He’s the absolute ultimate narcissist that he thinks because he would seek attention with that because he wants to stay relevant and maybe, guess what, how many people are talking about Ric Flair right now?

So he accomplished his mission no matter how negative or positive that it might be. People are now talking about Ric Flair and I’m sure he was trending on social media.”

Ric Flair even said that Jim Ross belongs on his Mount Rushmore following all the backlash he received, but fans weren’t having it and once again called out Flair for trying to do damage control after his tweets about Jim Ross.

Whether Ric Flair intended his tweet as a joke or not, the damage is obviously done. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if the Nature Boy will end up apologizing for his controversial tweets soon enough, as it’s clear fans are just sick of Ric Flair now.
