WWE is bringing in some heavy lucha experience to support its AAA crossover, and the latest name attached is Hector Melendez.

PWInsider Elite reports that Melendez “is also on board and will be working on the AAA brand going forward for WWE.” This isn’t just another hire—Melendez brings decades of credibility from his work across AAA, WWC, WWL, and his time as LAX’s personal ring announcer in TNA.

He’s not expected to be in front of the camera, though. Instead, WWE is placing him behind the scenes, with the goal of strengthening AAA’s brand presence under their system.

The report notes: “He is expected at the WWE Performance Center this week in preparation for the event.”

Melendez also has history with members of WWE’s current team. During his TNA run, he worked closely with Jeremy Borash—now a major figure in WWE’s production efforts. Their reunion could give the AAA expansion an edge behind the curtain as the company gears up for Worlds Collide.

WWE’s partnership with AAA isn’t just about in-ring talent—it’s about putting the right minds in the right places. Hector Melendez joining the project signals that WWE is serious about this crossover being more than a one-off event.
