WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Results (5/24/25): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show opens up with Joe Tessitore welcoming, while we get a shot of a Tampa shoreline followed by fans standing outside the host venue. We then see the arrivals and backstage shots of Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, Alba Fyre, WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega, R-Truth, Logan Paul and World Heavyweight Champion “Main Event” Jey Uso.

We then get a cold open video package.

Joe Tessitore is then seen on the stage with Jesse Ventura as they discussed the action to come for tonight’s show, including the McIntyre vs. Priest Steel Cage Match and Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul. Both men then sends things over to our commentary team of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee.

Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night and Sami Zayn and CM Punk follow.

Tag Team Match: “The Best In The World” CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins and “The Unpredictable Badass” Bron Breakker

The match starts with all four men begin brawling with one another. Punk and Zayn then clothesline Breakker out of the ring and Zayn delivers some right hands on Rollins. Breakker then hits a clothesline on Zayn off the barricade that sends him crashing over the announce desk. Breakker then delivers some shoulders on Zayn’s midsection in the corner and Rollins hits a cheap shot on Zayn from the apron. Breakker then sends Zayn crashing into the mat with a Brainbuster, then tags in Rollins.

Punk then tags in on his side and nails Rollins with a couple of back elbows and sends him crashing into the mat with a twisting neckbreaker. Punk then calls for the GTS, but Rollins avoids it and Punk hits a Code Red on Rollins. Punk then hits a jumping knee on Rollins and nails Breakker with a clothesline as he sends Rollins crashing into the mat. Rollins then hits a Pedigree on Punk and goes for a pin, but Zayn breaks the fall. Zayn then hits an asai moonsault off the top rope to land on Breakker on the outside.

Rollins and Punk then exchange right hands with one another. Rollins then hits a kick on Punk’s midsection and sets up for the Curb Stomp, but Punk avoids it and nails Rollins. Zayn and Breakker then tag in and Zayn hits a Tornado DDT on Breakker. Zayn then follows it up with an Exploder in the corner on Breakker and sets up for the Helluva Kick, but Heyman grabs Zayn’s ankle from the outside of the ring.

The referee then catches Heyman and Bronson Reed appears out of nowhere. Reed sends Punk crashing through the barricade with a splash. Breakker then takes advantage of a surprised Zayn and follows it up with a Spear on Zayn for the win.

After the match, Rollins hugs Reed in the ring. Reed then shakes Breakker’s hand and the three men stand tall with Heyman. Punk then grabs Heyman’s ankle, but Reed runs him over with a senton. Reed then follows it up with a Tsunami on Punk.

We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley is interviewing Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice. Green says she has risen from the ashes. Green then says the votes are in. Green then says when she beats Zelina Vega she will enter the second term as the United States Women’s Champion. Green then says, “Thank you for your hervice!”

Chelsea Green then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night with the Secret Hervice by her side and Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega follows.

WWE Women’s United States Championship Match: Zelina Vega (c) vs. Chelsea Green

The match starts off with Green nailing Vega. Green then delivers some right hands on Vega, then sends her into the top turnbuckle face first. Vega then hits a back elbow on Green and dials it up for a 619, but Green moves out of the way.

Green then powerbombs Vega off the apron and onto the floor, then sends her back in the ring and goes for a pin. Vega then kicks out, but Green sends Vega crashing into the mat face first and nails her with a boot on her face. Green then delivers some stomps on Vega in the corner, then looks to hits her with a Vader Bomb. Vega then moves out of the way and nails Green with a couple of clotheslines and follows it up with a back suplex.

Green then sends Vega crashing into the mat and sets up for the Unprettier, but Vega dials it up for a 619 and climbs up the top rope. Alba Fyre then grabs Vega from climbing up the ropes as Piper Niven distracts the referee, but Vega still hits a Code Red on Green off the middle rope for the win.

Commentary then hypes the John Cena vs. R-Truth match.

WWE Hall of Famer “The Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart is then shown seated at ringside. We also see WWE Hall of Famer Bushwhacker Luke at ringside and Luke tries to lick Hart, but Hart escapes.

We then get an ad for WWE World Collide.

El Hijo Del Vikingo is then shown at ringside.

We then get an ad for WWE NXT Great American Bash, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (July 12th) and WWE Evolution (July 13th) coming to Atlanta.

John Cena then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and R-Truth follows.

Non-Title Match: Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena vs. R-Truth

The match starts off with John Cena running over R-Truth with a clothesline. Cena then sends Truth crashing into the top turnbuckle face first, then sends him into the opposite corner and nails him with a couple of shoulder tackles. Cena then hits a Blue Thunder Bomb on Truth and follows it up with a Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Truth runs over Cena with two shoulder tackles of his own and a Blue Thunder Bomb. Truth then hits a Five Knuckle Shuffle and an Attitude adjustment on Cena, then goes for a pin but Cena kicks out.

Truth then cinches in an STF on Cena, but Cena crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Cena then sends Truth crashing into the ring post and grabs his Undisputed WWE Championship belt, then contemplates hitting Truth with it but ultimately decides against it. As the referee disposes of the Undisputed WWE Championship belt, Cena hits a low blow on Truth and follows it up with an Attitude Adjustment for the win.

After the match, Cena nails Truth with the Undisputed WWE Championship belt and heads to the back.

We then get a video package looking at the Steel Cage Match, which is coming up next and the Steel Cage lowers over the ring.

We then head to the back, where WWE World Heavyweight Champion “Main Event” Jey Uso is walking when he runs into Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena. Cena says it’s been a long time. Uso then says he hasn’t seen Cena since he eliminated him to win the Royal Rumble. Cena then says he is happy that Uso remembers that. Cena then says he is looking forward to the next time he sees Uso. Cena then says there is something special about Uso being from one of the most prestigious families in wrestling history and losing the title to Logan Paul. Cena then says wouldn’t it be something if his clock runs out and the only title left is around the waist of a YouTuber. Cena then says that would ruin wrestling. Cena then says there’s a lot of pressure for the match tonight. Cena then sarcastically wishes Uso luck and says he’ll be watching closely.

WWE Legend Leilani Kai is shown at ringside. Tatanka is also shown at ringside.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura then joins Michael Cole and Pat McAfee on commentary.

Damian Priest then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Drew McIntyre follows.

Steel Cage Match: Damian Priest vs. “The Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre

The match starts off with Drew McIntyre going straight after Damian Priest. McIntyre then sends a chair into the cage and follows Priest inside the cage, but McIntyre sends Priest crashing into the side of the cage and hits a flatliner on him. McIntyre then sends Priest crashing into two adjacent sides of the cage and tosses him face first into another side.

McIntyre and Priest then teeter on the top rope. Priest then looks to climb out of the cage, but McIntyre hits a superplex on him to pull him back into the ring. McIntyre then follows it up with the Claymore Kick and goes for a pin, but Priest kicks out.

Priest then delivers some kicks on McIntyre’s chest, then nails him with a rolling forearm and a jumping elbow in the corner. McIntyre then looks to hit a second Claymore Kick, but Priest avoids it and rolls up McIntyre. McIntyre then kicks out and sends Priest crashing into the mat with a South of Heaven and goes for a pin. Priest then kicks out, but McIntyre hits Priest with a chair three times and places Priest in front of the chair set up in the corner. McIntyre then looks to hit a Claymore Kick on Priest, but Priest moves out of the way and McIntyre hits the chair.

Priest then hits a South of Heaven on McIntyre, then places his head on top of the chair and uses the second one to hits a Con-Chair-To on McIntyre. Priest then exits the cage to win the match.

The winner of the Steel Cage Match, Damian Priest!

After the match, medical officials check on McIntyre and bring out a stretcher for him. McIntyre then comes to and refuses help before attempting to leave under his own power.

Michael Cole then hypes the World Heavyweight Championship Match as it is coming up next.

Mike Rotunda and Barry Windham are then shown standing in the crowd.

Joe Tessitore and Jesse Ventura then checks in from their podium. Ventura says the return of Bronson Reed impressed him. Tessitore then sets up a video package for the main event.

Jey Uso then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night and Logan Paul follows.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: “Main Event” Jey Uso (c) vs. “The Maverick” Logan Paul

The match starts with both men locking up and Uso cinches in a side headlock on Paul. Paul then nails Uso, but Uso shoulder tackles Paul. Uso then hits the ropes and Paul drops down and leapfrogs over Uso. Uso then uppercuts Paul and sends him to the corner, but Paul slingshots over Over. Paul then knocks Uso back and hits a blockbuster off the ropes before doing a kip-up. Uso then rolls out of the ring to recover. Paul then takes Uso out with a plancha.

Jey then hits a Hip Attack on Paul in the corner and goes for a pin. Paul then kicks out, but Jey climbs to the top. Paul then gets his knees up and rolls up Jey, but Jey kicks out. Jey then hits a Samoan Drop on Paul and looks to fly out of the ring, but Paul catches Jey with a right hand. Jey then nails Paul with a superkick when he gets back in the ring, then follows it up with a Uso Splash off the top rope, then goes for a pin.

John Cena then pulls the referee out of the ring before he can complete the count, then continues beating down Jey. Cody Rhodes’ music then hits and he makes his way out. He then takes out Cena, opening the door for Jey to hit an Uso Splash on Paul for the win.

The winner and still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, “Main Event” Jey Uso!

After the match, Rhodes grabs a mic and challenges Cena and Paul to a tag team match at WWE Money In The Bank on behalf of him and Jey as the show comes to a close.
