Akira Tozawa was ready to throw down with Rusev, but it looks like that clash will have to wait. During the May 12 episode of WWE RAW, Tozawa approached Adam Pearce, pushing for a match against Rusev after their heated confrontation last week.

However, Pearce shot down the request, revealing that Tozawa is not medically cleared to compete. While the exact nature of Tozawa’s injury remains unclear, Pearce assured him that the match could still happen once he’s given the green light.

Tozawa has been gunning for Rusev ever since the May 5 episode of RAW, where he tried to interfere after Rusev’s win over Otis, only to get attacked by the returning powerhouse.

For now, Tozawa will have to sit on the sidelines while Rusev continues to assert his dominance in the ring. Stay tuned for updates on Tozawa’s condition and whether he’ll get his chance at revenge anytime soon.
