Tonight’s WWE RAW airing May 5, 2025, promises an action-packed night live from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The WWE Backlash go-home show sees Damage CTRL’s WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY take on “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez in a Non-Title Match. Plus, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman and “The Unpredictable Badass” Bron Breakker delivers a message to WWE Universe.
The show kicks off at 8:00 PM ET on Netflix and is available for international fans on streaming platforms like Netflix. The show opens up with a video package recapping the segments from last week involving Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Bron Breakker and WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman and their issues with Sami Zayn.
Michael Cole then welcomes us to the show and he is joined by Pat McAfee. Cole then narrates the backstage arrivals of Women’s World Champion IYO SKY, Roxanne Perez, Alpha Academy (Otis, Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa), Rusev and “The Ring General” GUNTHER.
A group of fans are then shown yeeting. The camera then pulls back to show World Heavyweight Champion “Main Event” Jey Uso standing with the fans. Jey’s music then hits and he makes his way out through the crowd. Jey stops and pumps his arms with a young fan before heading down the steps to the ring.
Jey then continues to yeet with the fans before he grabs the mic and starts to speak. Jey says he is now in Omaha, then says he knows Logan Paul is also in Omaha and asks where he is at. Paul Heyman then cuts Jey off and he makes his way down to the ring as he introduces himself. Heyman says he doesn’t mean to disrespect Jey and Jey says Heyman is very brave confronting him after he betrayed Roman Reigns. Jey says from day one he saw past Heyman and warned both Reigns and CM Punk. Heyman then says Jey didn’t have to live through what he did when Punk put him in a position that guaranteed he would sabotage his relationship with Reigns. Heyman then says because he wanted Punk to overcome the adversity in his life Reigns thought he would sell his secrets when he would never do that after building The Bloodline up for 5 years.
Heyman then continues to get defensive and vents his anger about how he is always the one at fault and being blamed for everything when he’s always put in positions to be the fall guy. Jey then asks Heyman if he’s okay and done, then asks what this has to do with him. Heyman. then apologies to Jey and says that has nothing to do with him, then says he came to the ring to talk to Jey. Heyman then says Jey doesn’t understand power or control and while Jey wants to be World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has to be World Heavyweight Champion. Heyman then puts Jey on notice and challenges Jey for his title on behalf of Rollins given that he pinned Reigns at WrestleMania 41 to beat him and Punk. Heyman then says Jey can pick the time and place of his choosing. Heyman then looks to leave, but Jey stops him and says he wants to defend his title against Rollins tonight. Jey then holds up the title belt in Heyman’s face while commentary questions if it’s official. Heyman then exits the ring.
Cole and McAfee then speak at their desk. Cole says Heyman manipulated Jey into defending his title. Cole then says they needed to see if RAW General Manager Adam Pearce would make the match official. Cole then recaps highlights of Penta’s issues with The Judgment Day. Penta then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night as he is introduced by ring announcer Alicia Taylor. Cole says they are playing a new version of Penta’s entrance theme, which includes the great Adam Jones of Tool on guitar.
We then head to the back, where Heyman enters a locker room where Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker are waiting. Heyman tells Rollins that Jey fell for it and wants to face him tonight just as Rollins said he would. Rollins then says he told Heyman so and then exits the room. Heyman then tells Breakker that Reigns and Punk prepared for Rollins and yet they both lost to him at WrestleMania. Heyman then says Jey Uso isn’t focused on Rollins, he is focused on Paul and hasn’t had any time to prepare for Rollins. Heyman then says Rollins had prepared for Jey and now they will be handed the keys to the kingdom when the referee hands the title to Rollins.
Michael Cole then announces that the Jey Uso vs. Seth Rollins match for the World Heavyweight Championship is made official by Adam Pearce.
JD McDonagh then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night.
The match starts off with both men wasting no time in going after each other and locking up. Both men then go back and forth with one another, but Penta and McDonagh exchange chops with one another. McDonagh then nails Penta with a back elbow, but Penta responds with an enzuigiri on McDonagh on the apron. McDonagh then responds with a Death Valley Driver on Penta on the apron.
McDonagh then sends Penta crashing into the ring post and sends him back inside the ring, then hits a suplex on him and follows it up with a Spanish Fly. Carlito then takes a cheap shot on Penta as McDonagh distracts the referee and McDonagh places Penta on the top rope. McDonagh then delivers some right hands on his spine and joins him up there before he drapes Penta off the top rope by his knees and looks to hit a dropkick on him.
Penta then moves out of the way and McDonagh is sent crashing into the ring post. Penta then hits a Bronco Buster on McDonagh and goes for a pin, but McDonagh kicks out. Penta then delivers some forearms on McDonagh and hits a kick on his chest, then follows it up with a Sling Blade and delivers a chop on him. Penta then hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on McDonagh and nails Carlito with an enzuigiri, then sends McDonagh out of the ring and hits a crossbody off the top rope to take down Carlito and McDonagh on the outside.
Penta then sends McDonagh inside the ring and looks to join him, but Bálor pulls him off the ring apron. The referee then catches Bálor and ejects both him and Carlito from ringside, but Chad Gable appears and grabs Penta’s ankle. Penta then flies to land on Gable on the outside, opening the door for McDonagh to set up for a moonsault off the top rope. Penta then moves out of the way and hits the Mexican Destroyer for the win.

We then head to the back, where Grayson Waller is speaking with Adam Pearce about how he isn’t happy with his singles match opponent. Austin Theory then shows up. Waller then claims he is telling Pearce that Theory should take his singles match. Pearce is then rolling his eyes at Waller’s claim, but he agrees to the switch after Theory says he wanted the match. Theory then asked Waller who his opponent will be. Waller tells him that he thought it will be better if it was a surprise.
Grayson Waller and Austin Theory then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Theory’s surprise opponent Sheamus makes his way down to the ring next.
The match starts off with both men wasting no time in going after each other and locking up. Sheamus then hits the Irish Curse Backbreaker on Theory, then cinches in the Cloverleaf on him. Theory then crawls over to the bottom rope to break the fall, then flies off the ropes to nail Sheamus on the outside.
Theory then delivers some right hands on Sheamus back inside the ring, then wears him down with a submission and hits an Airplane Spin on him. Theory then climbs to the top rope, but Sheamus counters into a White Noise on Theory off the middle rope and follows it up with The Ten Beats of the Bodhran. Sheamus then hits the Brogue Kick on Theory for the win.

Michael Cole then announces Dominik Mysterio vs. Penta for the Intercontinental Championship for Saturday’s WWE Backlash event.
We then head Inside the Judgment Day clubhouse, where JD McDonagh is upset and vented to Finn Bálor, Carlito, Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez about Chad Gable getting involved in his match. AJ Styles then shows up and tells Dominik that he is coming for whoever wins the Intercontinental Title match at Backlash. Styles then exits the room. Dominik then tells the others that being a champion is harder than he realized. Dominik then asks Bálor if he will take care of Styles for him. Bálor then gets upset and asks if his job is to take care of Dominik’s messes. Bálor then flashes a smile and says of course he will do it.
We then head to another area backstage, where WWE World Tag Team Champions The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) are speaking with Chad Gable. Kingston and Woods say it’s time that American Made gets some respect. Woods then brings up the War Raiders wanting a shot at the tag titles. Woods then says opportunities like that need to come back to American Made and Gable loves it. Becky Lynch then shows up and looks at all three men. They then wish her good luck. Lynch then walks past them while Cole hypes her coming up next. Cole then hypes SummerSlam for August 2-3.
Becky Lynch’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Lynch starts off by saying she may have taken out Bayley, but everyone lost their minds when she returned at WrestleMania 41 as no one questioned where Bayley was. Lynch then says while people question her choice to take out Bayley, they don’t question someone who takes out garbage which is what Bayley is. Lynch then calls Lyra Valkyria recycling and says everything she has from her Women’s Intercontinental Championship to her fiance is because of her.
Lyra Valkyria’s music then hits and she makes her way down to the ring. Valkyria says Lynch has been recycling for years and objects to Lynch taking credit for her success, then says while Lynch was on holidays everyone got better and she made history of her own by becoming the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion in history. Lynch then says she’s very good at her job and the greatest to ever do it in a professional ring as has been said by Sports Illustrated. Valkyria then tells Lynch to continue listing off her achievements, but she can’t say she was the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Valkyria and Lynch then begin brawling with one another and things spill out of the ring, but officials run down to break the two women apart. Valkyria then breaks free and hits the Night Wing on Lynch, then stands tall and holds up the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Michael Cole then hypes the World Heavyweight Championship match for later in the show. Roxanne Perez then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Cole then touts WWE Crown Jewel: Perth and the host venue holding the go-home edition of SmackDown and the fallout edition of RAW.
WWE Women’s World Champion IYO SKY then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night.
The match starts off with both women wasting no time in going after each other and locking up. Perez then dropkicks SKY’s knee, then flies through the middle rope with a tope suicida to nail SKY on the outside. SKY then responds with one of her own and both women deliver some strikes on one another when they return inside the ring. Perez then hits a Russian Leg Sweep on SKY, then sends SKY’s ankle bouncing off the ring post.
SKY and Perez then teeter on the ropes, but SKY hits an arm drag on Perez off the middle rope and follows it up with a missile dropkick off the top rope. SKY then hits a German suplex on Perez, but Perez responds with a back suplex and climbs to the top rope. SKY then sets up for the Over The Moonsault, but Perez rolls out of the way and sends SKY crashing into the mat. Perez then rolls up SKY, but SKY reverses the fall for the win.

After the match, Perez shakes SKY’s hand as a sign of respect. Giulia then attacks SKY from behind as Perez laughs on the entrance ramp and both women continue beating SKY down.
A tale of the tape graphic is then shown for the Rusev vs. Otis match. Rusev then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and Alpha Academy are already inside the ring.
The match starts off with both men locking up. Rusev then deliver some stomps on Otis in the corner, but Otis sends Rusev into the corner. Rusev then responds with a clothesline, but Otis stays on his feet and nails Rusev with a couple of splashes. Rusev then nails Otis with a leg lariat, then delivers some Hammer and Anvil elbows on Otis and wears him down with a submission. Otis then hits a belly-to-belly throw that sends Rusev crashing over the announce desk, then sends him crashing into the ring steps and follows it up with a spinning back fist.
Otis then sends Rusev back in the ring, but Rusev catches Otis with a punk kick and cinches in The Accolade and Otis taps out.

After the match, Akira Tozawa steps up to Rusev and says he wants to fight him now. Rusev then retreats and heads to the back, but changes his mind and sends Tozawa crashing on top of Otis with a powerbomb. Rusev then sends Otis crashing into opposite ring posts shoulder first, then hits another pump kick on him and cinches The Accolade back in. Officials then run down to the ring to pry Rusev off of Otis as Natalya checks on Dupri on the outside. Adam Pearce then barks at Rusev about his actions.
Adam Pearce then introduces both Pat McAfee and GUNTHER and they both make their way down to the ring. Pearce reiterates that there will be no physicality and both men should get everything they need to off their chests. GUNTHER says he won’t do anything tonight and spoil anything for himself because he is professional. McAfee then says Michael Cole has dedicated himself to traveling the world to call WWE matches for 28 years, which makes him entitled to having his opinion about GUNTHER. McAfee then says Omaha is a symbol of making dreams come true and while they may be from completely different places, they grew up with the same dream of being professional wrestlers and grew up thinking that’s what they were meant to do. McAfee then says GUNTHER has been involved in the business for 20 years and that’s made him jaded. McAfee then says GUNTHER works a job while he lives out his dream every time he steps in the ring. McAfee then says GUNTHER will underestimate him on Saturday at Backlash, but he’ll prove him and the fans wrong.
GUNTHER then says he’ll show up sharp, prepared and focused in his first match since WrestleMania 41 and he will give McAfee his full and undivided attention. GUNTHER then says he’ll maul McAfee and brutalize him in the ring, then drop him like a wet towel. GUNTHER then says McAfee is untouchable due to his grace. GUNTHER then says on Saturday only the grace of God will lift his arms off McAfee’s throat. GUNTHER then shoves the mic into McAfee’s chest and storms out of the ring while Cole says reality may have just set in.
We then see “Main Event” Jey Uso walking in the back as the main event of the night for the WWE World Heavyweight Champion is next.
Seth Rollins then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night with Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman.
The card for next Monday’s episode of WWE RAW is then announced.
Jey Uso then makes his way down to the ring next via the stage.
The match starts off with both men wasting no time in going after each other and locking up. Jey then avoids an early Stomp. Jey then sets up for a superkick, but Rollins ducks out of the ring to avoid it. Rollins then tells Breakker that Jey is good and the champion for a reason. Rollins then returns to the ring and gets the better of Jey for a bit, but Jey comes back and sends Rollins over the commentary desk.
Jey then ducks a couple of clothesline attempts and both wrestlers collide while going for simultaneous crossbody blocks. They then get up and trade punches. Jey then puts Rollins down with a Samoan Drop and hist him with a hip attack in the corner before covering him for a near fall. Rollins then jumps from the top rope into a superkick. Rollins then hits a Buckle Bomb on Jey and goes for a top rope frog splash that Jey avoids. Jey then runs the ropes and goes for a spear, but Rollins hits him with a Pedigree on the way down for a near fall.
Rollins then goes for a Stomp, but Jey movs and puts Rollins in a sleeper while Cole recalls Jey using the same move to win the title at WrestleMania 41. Rollins then escapes the sleeper. Jey then spears Rollins and coves him for a near fall. Jey then goes up top. Rollins then cuts him off and goes to the middle rope where both men fight for position. Jey then knocks Rollins off the ropes. The referee then checks on Rollins while Jey has to kick Breakker away. Rollins then hits a superplex and a Falcon Arrow. Rollins then follows it up with a Stomp for another near fall. Rollins and Breakker then expresses disbelief. Rollins then approaches Breakker and whispers to him.
Sami Zayn’s music then hits. Breakker then walks toward the entrance aisle to wait for him. Zayn then comes down from the crowd and jumps off the barricade onto Breakker. Jey then spears Rollins and hits him with a frog splash for another near fall. Zayn then pounds on the mat in support of Jey. Breakker then spears Zayn. Jey then leaves the ring to check on Zayn. Breakker then spears Jey while Heyman distracts the referee. Once Jey is back inside the ring, Rollins hits him with a Stomp and is about to pin him when he is distracted. CM Punk’s music then hits and he comes out with a chair in his hand. Punk then takes out Breakker with the chair and enters the ring with it. Punk then tackles Rollins and nails the chair over his back while the referee is shown waving off the match at ringside.
The match ends in a No Contest and as a result still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, “Main Event” Jey Uso!
After the match, Punk works over Rollins with the chair. Rollins then exits the ring and stands with Breakker and Heyman in the entrance aisle while the executive producer credits are shown and the show comes to a close.
