Rusev is officially back in WWE, and the locker room is fired up.

After shocking fans during the April 21 episode of RAW at T-Mobile Arena, the former U.S. Champion made his return in dramatic fashion. The New Day and Alpha Academy were in the middle of a confrontation when the lights went out and new music hit. Moments later, “Rusev” flashed across the screen, and the Bulgarian Brute stormed the ring, leveling Otis and Tozawa as the Las Vegas crowd erupted with chants of “Rusev Day!”

Behind the scenes, the reaction was just as loud. According to a report from PWInsider, “many talents in WWE were happy to have Rusev back in the fold,” and it’s clear this return wasn’t a last-minute call. WWE sources claim the company “intends to have Rusev back in the mix in a major way.”

Rusev quietly exited AEW in early 2025 after months of inactivity, reportedly growing frustrated over being left off TV. His AEW run ended after a win against Andrade El Idolo at Worlds End in December 2023, followed by a loss to Alberto El Patron in early 2025. WWE jumped quickly, signing him to a new two-year deal.

While Rusev’s family was present at RAW, his wife Lana—who has signed a WWE Legends contract—was intentionally kept away from the arena. The goal, sources say, was to avoid any leaks that could have spoiled the moment.

With his return now official, all eyes are on what’s next for the Bulgarian powerhouse.
