Ric Flair knows how fast the internet can jump to conclusions—so this time, The Nature Boy made sure to get ahead of the narrative.

On April 7, just days after Charlotte Flair’s intense promo segment with Tiffany Stratton aired on SmackDown, Ric fired off a tweet that raised some eyebrows. But rather than let fans misinterpret his timing, he followed it up with a clear message.

“This has nothing to do with my daughter @MsCharlotteWWE! It’s all about how many World Championships I really won which I would love to explain to the world because no one understands the actual number!” Flair posted on X.

That tweet came shortly after Ric teased an appearance on Busted Open Radio, writing: “A lot of people should run & hide because I’m going to be on @BustedOpenRadio tomorrow! 😎”

Given the timing, many assumed he was weighing in on the drama from SmackDown—where Charlotte and Tiffany went off-script with personal jabs that had WWE trimming the segment from YouTube. Fans still talking about lines like “Is that why Kaiser’s in my DMs?” and “What is that, 0-3?” figured Ric might be stepping in to defend his daughter.

Backstage sources said that the segment “was a hot topic among the women’s roster” and that many backstage believed things went off-script, including staff and talent. One source described Charlotte’s final jab as “a flailing shot from a boxer who didn’t realize they were KO’d.”

But Ric Flair wasn’t looking to add fuel to that fire. His post was all about his legacy—not Charlotte’s feud. Flair is still laser-focused on one thing: clearing up what he claims is the real number of World Championships he’s won.

“No one understands the actual number!” he emphasized, making it clear this isn’t about Tiffany, Charlotte, or SmackDown heat.

With John Cena eyeing a record-breaking 17th title run and Ric Flair insisting his total count is misunderstood, The Nature Boy looks ready to reclaim the conversation and set the record straight on his own terms.

Do you think WWE should officially acknowledge Flair’s true World Title count? Or does the 16-time number tell the whole story? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
