Chris Jericho Admits He Would Consider WWE Return

Chris Jericho had a great run in WWE before leaving in 2018 to help launch AEW in 2019 as one of its biggest stars. Even though he’s been a major part of AEW, fans still wonder if he might go back to WWE someday, and now Jericho has addressed that possibility.

While speaking during the HRWF 2025 event, Chris Jericho was asked if he would ever consider a return to WWE now that things have changed there. He said he would have considered going back even before the changes.

In his view, you’d be crazy not to think about it, especially since there are now two major companies to work for, which is part of why he took the risk of joining AEW in the first place.

“I would have considered a return to WWE before things changed. I mean, you’d be crazy not to consider it. Once again, there are two teams you can play on, which is amazing, and it’s one of the reasons why I wanted to take a chance and go to AEW in the first place—it was a real gamble.

Jericho explained that he would definitely consider going back to WWE, but he’d also consider not going back. It all depends on the situation and where he’s at personally and professionally when the time comes. For him, it’s not just about saying “never say never,” but about weighing all the options and making the smartest choice.

Le Champion also pointed out that throughout his career, he’s never had an issue with change. He’s always been open to evolving, trying new things, and taking chances, and he’s not afraid to continue doing that.

“So, yeah, of course I would consider going back there. I would also consider not going back there too. It just depends on what the situation is and what’s going on with me at the time. We’ll see. It’s not even a ‘never say never’ thing—it’s more like, ‘consider all your options and choose wisely.’

And if you’ve followed my career, you know I’ve never had a problem with changing, evolving, reinventing, or taking chances. I’m not scared of that.”

Chris Jericho made it clear that even though he’s an important part of AEW, he’s not completely against returning to WWE one day. His career keeps growing, and as wrestling fans know, anything is possible. Whether he goes back to WWE or not, Jericho’s ability to keep things fresh and try new things means he’ll stay interesting in the wrestling world for a long time.
