Miro is officially back in the WWE system, but fans hoping for a full-on Rusev Day reunion might want to hold off on the celebrations—because CJ Perry, aka Lana, isn’t coming with him.
PWInsider confirmed earlier this week that Miro—formerly known as Rusev—spent most of the day at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, where he finalized a new deal with the company. While it’s still unclear when he’ll make his on-screen return, his signing marks a full-circle moment for the former United States Champion after his AEW run ended earlier this year.
However, during Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided a key update fans were waiting for: Lana wasn’t at the meeting—and she’s not expected to return at all. “Yeah Miro signed, CJ did not sign and was not there,” Meltzer stated. “Basically, when asking I was given the impression that she would not be back. You never know for sure, but she did not sign, and he did.”
Lana hasn’t wrestled since May 31, 2021, during WWE’s ThunderDome era, and was released two days later. After leaving WWE, she made her AEW debut at All Out 2023, managing Miro and later Andrade El Idolo—only to turn on Andrade at Worlds End, in what turned out to be her final appearance for the company. She confirmed her AEW exit in July 2024.
With Miro back in WWE and Perry seemingly staying out of the picture for now, the return of the full Rusev Day act doesn’t appear to be in the cards. Still, fans are already speculating what this new solo chapter will look like for The Bulgarian Brute.
