LA Knight Admits He Should Have Won United States Title Sooner

LA Knight worked very hard to build a name for himself in WWE and it culminated in him winning the United States Title for the first time back at SummerSlam 2024. That being said, it appears Knight believes he should have won the title sooner.

While speaking to SHAK Wrestling, LA Knight was asked if he should have won the U.S. Title sooner, especially when Roman Reigns was champion and not on TV much. The interviewer suggested that it was a great chance for him to be the face of SmackDown.

LA Knight said people could argue about the timing, and no one really knows the perfect moment for things to happen. He admitted that the title win should have happened earlier, but also made it clear that timing in wrestling is unpredictable. In the end, LA Knight accepted the situation for what it was.

“Yeah, you could debate that, I suppose. You could argue those points, I suppose. What is the right timing? Nobody knows. Should it have happened earlier? Yeah, probably, in my view. At the same time, it is what it is, my man.”

LA Knight would drop the United States Title to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series last year before getting it back during the March 7th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, but many fans felt he didn’t have to drop the title in the first place.

With the United States Championship back on his waist, LA Knight is once again a major focus on WWE television. In the meantime, fans are waiting to see how WWE will use him in the coming weeks as we approach WrestleMania 41.
