Gage Goldberg has been around professional wrestling his entire life due to his father’s legacy. Many fans have speculated whether he will follow in his father’s footsteps and step into the ring and now Goldberg has addressed the possibility of his son joining the wrestling business.
While speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg was asked if his son, Gage, would follow in his footsteps and become a wrestler. He said it wasn’t guaranteed but would always be an option if Gage wanted it. If he were managing his son, he’d encourage him to wrestle because he believed no one could stop him.
Goldberg said he would support Gage only if he was fully committed and willing to give 120% effort to be the best. He believed his son could achieve anything if he worked hard and stayed focused.
No matter what Gage chooses, Goldberg makes it clear that he will support him. If his son truly loves professional wrestling, then the WWE Hall of Famer will stand by him all the way.
“There is nothing inevitable, you know that. The fact is, it’s hopefully always going to be an option if he chooses to go in that direction. If I were his freaking manager? Yeah, I’d want him to—because nobody could do anything to him.
You know what? Yes, I’d let him do it if he looked me in the eye and had the conviction in his soul that that’s what he’s going to put 120% of his attitude and life toward—to be the best. I know he can do it because he can do anything he wants. Most people can do what they want; they just have to put their mind to it and be willing to put the work in. You gotta work for it, man.
I support him in anything he does. So if the kid loves it, then he can do it, man. I’m completely behind him.”
Gage Goldberg is currently playing football for the University of Colorado under coach Deion Sanders. However, it is to be noted that Triple H extended an invitation to Gage to join WWE in the future. Whether or not he will eventually pursue a career in pro wrestling remains to be seen, but fans are definitely eager to see if he will follow in his father’s footsteps.
