On the October 21 episode of WWE RAW, Lilian Garcia made her return as a ring announcer, taking on the role she previously held for many years. She would then make her way to SmackDown as the ring announcer for the blue brand this year. However, it appears that Garcia has now announced that her time as a full-time announcer has come to an end.

Following the conclusion of the March 14th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Lilian Garcia took to her Instagram and uploaded a video, where she announced that she will no longer be the announcer for Friday Night SmackDown.

Garcia revealed that she will continue working with WWE but in a different capacity. She will handle ring announcing duties for all Saturday Night’s Main Event specials—held four times a year, and will be involved in other WWE projects, including special event performances.

“Just finished announcing SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain and it was absolutely incredible!! Gracias por todo el amor España! ❤️ But now I have some news that this was my last show as the full-time SmackDown announcer. A new era is upon us BUT I will still be with the company as I will be announcing for all @wwe Saturday Night’s Main Event shows on @nbc & @peacock , singing at certain special events, AND currently working on other show ideas with WWE! 😉 WWE is my home so stay tuned as a new chapter begins… I invite all of you to continue this journey with me as we share it together!! 📖🤸🏼‍♀️ Bottom line, thank you and I love you dearly!!!! 💙🥰”

WWE has yet to announce her replacement on SmackDown. Currently, Alicia Taylor serves as the ring announcer for Raw, while Mike Rome handles NXT. However, the roles have been flexible in recent months, with Garcia recently stepping in for Rome on NXT. Rome was also on Raw this past Monday before returning to NXT the following night.

Garcia leaving full-time announcing is another change in WWE’s broadcast team. Her legacy as one of WWE’s most famous voices stays strong, and she will continue to be part of the WWE family in a new way, so we’ll have to see who will end up replacing her on Friday Night SmackDown going forward.
