WWE has strict policies in place for the overall betterment of the company, including bans on narcotics and performance-enhancing drugs. While marijuana was banned for a long time, it was recently confirmed that it is no longer the case. Interestingly enough, ex-WWE star Cameron Grimes has now claimed that he used marijuana to get through catering during his time in the company.
Cameron Grimes took to Twitter and commented on a recent interview from Michin, who revealed that WWE took marijuana off their banned substances list. In response to the interview, Grimes claimed he used marijuana to survive catering in the company, saying, “How you think I made it through all those caterings.”
During her interview on The Speakeezy podcast, Michin was asked if she uses marijuana, and she gave an open response. She explained that since marijuana has become more legal, WWE has become more accepting of it. She also noted that it was previously on WWE’s banned substance list but was removed a few years ago.
“Because it’s (marijuana) more legal, they’ve kind of accepted it,” Yim revealed. “So before, that used to be—marijuana used to be on the drug list, and they took that off a couple years ago.”
Ringside News reported back in 2021 that WWE got rid of its catering crew to save money, which surprised many people. The food at events was criticized, with some saying it was really bad. At that time, arenas provided the food, offering more than just pizza, hot dogs, and nachos. However, since WWE Superstars needed to eat healthy, many felt the food wasn’t good for them.
WWE later brought in a new catering company, but Cameron Grimes’ comments suggest that many still didn’t like the food. Regardless, we’ll have to see whether the company will end up improving their catering in the future.
