Trick Williams Reveals CM Punk’s Role in NXT Storyline with Real-Life Girlfriend Lash Legend

Trick Williams and Lash Legend have been in a relationship for some time, but they officially revealed it during an episode of NXT earlier this year. Williams has now revealed that CM Punk played a big role in helping them make work together on television.

Trick Williams and Lash Legend made headlines when they revealed their relationship during the March 12th edition of NXT, as they kissed on television and surprised fans in a big way.

While speaking to Ten Count media, Trick Williams revealed how his relationship with Lash Legend became part of their NXT storyline, thanks to some advice from CM Punk. He said there are some things about his personal life that he likes to keep private, especially when it comes to his relationship. At first, he wasn’t sure about mixing business with his personal life, as he didn’t want to share something so important to him with the public.

The idea of working together on a segment was brought up, but Williams was hesitant. He then spoke with CM Punk, who was nearby, and asked him what he thought about working a storyline with a real-life partner. Punk shared that he had done something similar with AJ Lee, and even their first kiss was on TV. Punk’s experience helped Williams feel more comfortable with the idea. After thinking about it, Williams agreed and he ended up having a lot of fun working with Lash.

“You know, honestly, I mean, you’re right. There’s some stuff I just want to keep to myself, you know? What I mean is, you don’t want to put her business out there. You don’t want people attacking something that’s very sacred to you. Yeah. And, um, you know, I guess the idea was brought up like, ‘Hey, y’all want to work a segment together?’ My initial reaction was, ‘I’m not so sure about that.’ And this is crazy—I’m not sure I’ve ever said this in an interview before, so you’re getting something special today. I was talking to CM Punk, who just happened to be around that day. I was like, ‘You know, Punk, what do you think about working a storyline with your actual partner?’

He’s like, ‘I did do that. Actually, I kissed AJ—that was actually our first kiss, and it was on TV.’ I was like, ‘Oh, so it all worked out for you?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, we did this.’ So I thought, ‘Okay.’ And then, now you’ve got the Trick and Lash storyline. That’s how that whole thing went down. I was very hesitant about it, but I’m glad we did it because, man, working with her was a lot of fun. She’s so talented.”

While Trick Williams continues to feud with Ridge Holland, Lash Legend continues to get a lot of attention as part of the Meta-Four group. Williams will always appreciate CM Punk for his advice in making his on-screen debut with Lash Legend memorable and that’s never changing.
