Logan Paul, one of the most well-known celebrities in the world today, has achieved significant success across various fields. However, as the owner of PRIME energy drink, he is now facing a new lawsuit once again.

According to Dexerto, Mark Anthony International, the distributor for Messi’s drink brand Mas+ by Lionel Messi, has filed a lawsuit against Prime Hydration, accusing the company of being “anti-competitive.” The dispute began when Lionel Messi launched Mas+ by Messi in June 2024, featuring four flavors available in bottles and cans.

On October 8, 2024, Mark Anthony International filed the lawsuit seeking a court ruling to confirm that Mas+ is not copying Prime’s bottle design. According to Mark Anthony, Prime reached out after Mas+ launched, demanding they stop selling the drink until the packaging was changed, threatening legal action for trademark and trade dress infringement.

Mark Anthony claims that Prime is trying to block fair competition and monopolize common packaging designs in the hydration drink industry. To support their case, they hired a survey expert who found that consumers were not confusing Prime with Mas+ by Messi.

“Unsurprisingly, the survey demonstrated no likelihood of confusion at all between the two products, which further supported Mark Anthony’s position that confusion is not likely.”

The lawsuit also points out differences in the drink bottles and emphasizes that the marketing behind Logan Paul, KSI, and Messi helps distinguish the brands. It mentions Logan Paul’s well-known scandals, such as his controversial Japan vlog and his failed CryptoZoo project, as reasons why the public can easily differentiate his brand from Messi’s.

Because of these controversies and other public stunts, the public understands who Logan Paul is, and it can easily distinguish him and his business partners from Mr. Messi.”

This lawsuit is simply one of many that have been filed against Logan Paul as of late. Logan Paul was also hit with a lawsuit from a NASCAR driver Caesar Bacarella, who claims the brand has infringed on the trademarks of his supplement company, Alpha Prime. In addition to that, PRIME is also facing legal action from the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee and was also slapped with $68 million lawsuit by Refresco, the company that supplies the PRIME energy drink. Therefore, it’s definitely not a great time to be Logan Paul.
