Logan Paul’s PRIME Slapped with $68 Million Lawsuit

Logan Paul is one of the most well-known celebrities in the world right now, who has seen great success in every avenue he has been a part of. However, being the owner of PRIME energy drink, he is now facing a $68 million lawsuit.

As previously reported, Logan Paul’s sports drink called Prime Energy got ton of attention from the FDA. The focus of the investigation revolved around the drink’s high caffeine content, equivalent to that of six cans of Coca-Cola. Clearly, the energy drink is still in the news for all the wrong reasons.

According to Bloomberg, Refresco, which supplies PRIME energy drink, is suing PRIME for at least $67.7 million. Refresco claims that PRIME broke a contract from 2023. This contract required PRIME to order at least 18.5 million cases of the drink each year for three years, totaling 55.5 million cases. Refresco set up a special production line just for PRIME, which involved a lot of upfront costs and setup time.

The lawsuit, filed on August 2, says PRIME didn’t meet its order requirements in the first year, which led to a penalty. The exact penalty amount isn’t clear, but Refresco says it could be repaid if PRIME meets the full order amount over the three years.

The complaint also notes that while the contract was based on high demand for PRIME, sales dropped well below expectations by 2024. Refresco says this drop was due to seasonal changes, fading social media hype, and other legal issues. PRIME also missed a required test run for new machinery in March and didn’t place any orders by April, leading to the contract being terminated. As a result, no PRIME drinks were produced on the new line.

Besides this lawsuit, PRIME is also facing legal action from the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee. The committee accuses PRIME of falsely claiming to be connected with the Games and Team USA and this lawsuit seeks a lot of money in damages.

Ironically enough, Logan Paul filed lawsuit in storyline against LA Knight recently for stealing his PRIME truck. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether Paul’s legal team will help him out with this new lawsuit.
