In the world of professional wrestling, where social media often gives fans a behind-the-scenes look, a recent photograph has created controversy. The image, showing WWE Superstars, including Gunther and Randy Orton, planning their matches before an episode of Raw, has been criticized by many, and this includes even Jim Ross.
The photo, which appeared online, revealed several wrestlers having discussions at ringside, leading to questions about the importance of maintaining kayfabe.
Jim Ross talked about the photo on his Grilling JR podcast. He was very critical, saying the leak was unprofessional and that the person responsible should be fired immediately. He believes it broke an important rule.
”Somebody’s a chicken s**t quite frankly. It’s just unprofessional and has no place. Whoever did it should be fired, simple as that. Shouldn’t go to HR, just say, ‘Look, we’re done. You broke a rule that is important to maintain.’‘
Good ol’ JR pointed out the significance of the photo, pointing out that it provides a revealing look at how wrestlers prepare. He explained that while it’s common for talents to talk through their matches and work on timing, the leak of such an image is concerning, and he dislikes when moments like this are exposed to the public.
”That picture is very revealing; it tells multiple stories. It’s unique as you can see all the talents hanging around. That’s kind of a typical thing, everybody’s going through their paces, talking, trying to get their timing together, all those things … so it’s daunting. I don’t like it, I don’t like when things like that happen.”
Earlier this year, the Wyatt Sicks was also criticized for not maintaining kayfabe after their debut. Regardless, maintaining kayfabe remains a very important aspect of professional wrestling, so it is understandable why Jim Ross would be livid over such a leak.
What’s your opinion on what Jim Ross had to say about demanding the firing of the person behind the RAW rehearsal leak? Do you feel maintaining kayfabe in this day and age is far too difficult now? Let us know in the comments section below!
