The intense rivalry between Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., and Mercedes Mone took a dramatic turn on the August 7 edition of AEW Dynamite. Following a recent backstage incident involving MJF, Mone’s AEW status was put into question due to her suspension. In the aftermath of Dynamite, Mone took to calling out Baker, accusing her of causing drama within AEW.

After Mercedes Mone’s associate, the Brickhouse Kamille, dominated two enhancement talents in a 2-on-1 match, Mercedes entered the ring to address her upcoming bout with Britt Baker. Mercedes, known as the CEO, declared that she wouldn’t have to deal with Britt Baker until AEW All In, mocking Baker’s credibility as a top star and referencing her suspension imposed by AEW’s EVPs, The Young Bucks.

This led to an interruption by Baker’s best friend and AEW commentator, who informed Mercedes that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan had overruled the suspension, reinstating Britt Baker.

Britt Baker then appeared on the titantron via satellite, chastising Mercedes for treating AEW as a mere trend while she considered it her true home. Baker concluded by asserting that, just as she was the first woman signed to AEW, she would also be the first to defeat Mercedes Mone in AEW and claim the TBS Championship at AEW All In.

Following the conclusion of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone took part in an Instagram live session and addressed Britt Baker’s return. Mercedes Mone expressed frustration after Britt Baker’s return to AEW Dynamite, calling out Baker for the drama she caused in AEW regarding her backstage confrontation with MJF.

Mone questioned the decision to lift her suspension and felt that Baker was stealing the spotlight and shifting attention away from her. She also vented about online criticism she’s faced, particularly regarding her fashion choices. Mone, who sees herself as a model and the epitome of beauty, defended her choice to wear high heels, emphasizing her confidence and personal style. She criticized fans for nitpicking her appearance and urged them to step away from the internet and enjoy life outside.

”I can’t have any peace at work. None. You see how much drama the DMD causes around here? And they want to lift her suspension? Usually I’m the talk around the internet, saying and claiming ‘I did this.’ It’s not me ya’ll, it’s her. Let’s talk about the internet. You guys are super annoying, these fans have been on my butt for a week for wearing high heels. I’m a model, I’m the most beautiful woman in the world. I’m not wearing flats, I’m not wearing those shoes standing next to year. I’m wearing my 6 inch Louis Vuitton because I can! What are they gonna complain next? My nails are too long? ‘Her nails are too long, it makes Kamille look too small.’ Stop it, get off the internet, go outside, play, touch the grass.”

We will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book Britt Baker and Mercedes Mone’s feud in the coming weeks as we approach AEW All In on August 25th, as there is definitely a lot of hype for their TBS Title match.
