Countdown To WWE NXT Heatwave Kickoff Pre-Show (7/7/2024):

The Countdown To WWE NXT Heatwave Kickoff Pre-Show opens up with Megan Morant welcoming us. Morant then introduces Sam Roberts, who will be joining her in the pre-show panel. We then see WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez walking in the back and WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams walking through the streets of Toronto.

We then get a video package looking at the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match.

We then head to the back, where Sarah Schreiber is interviewing Lola Vice. Schreiber asks Vice about Tuesday. Vice says tonight is not about emotion. Vice then says tonight she fights for the NXT Women’s Championship. Vice then says tonight is the biggest match of her life. Vice then says tonight’s match is for her family, but she left those tears in Florida. Vice then says tonight she will become the first Cuban-American NXT Women’s Champion. The panel then gives their thoughts and predictions on the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match.

We then get a video package looking at the WWE NXT North American Championship Match.

We then head to the back, where Sarah Schreiber says that Nathan Frazer has not yet arrived at the building and if he can’t make it to the venue in time for the match Axiom will have to defend the WWE NXT Tag Team Titles by himself. We then see Axiom warming up and pacing behind Schreiber in the hallway.

We then see “All Ego” Ethan Page walking in the garage.

We then get a video package looking at the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Match. The panel then gives their thoughts and predictions on the match.

We then get a promo from “All Ego” Ethan Page from earlier today. Page leaves his hotel room to reveal the outfit he is wearing to the arena. Page then mentions being in a Canadian Tuxedo. Page then says Shawn Spears will probably wear a three piece suit, but he is wearing a tuxedo. Page then says he is the uncrowned champion of Canada.

We then see “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans outside of the arena yesterday. Evans says he was in the Indies six months ago and he didn’t expect any of this to happen. Evans then says he will main event his first PLE tonight and he will have a chance to be the youngest champion in NXT history.

We then head to the Chase U locker room, where Ridge Holland calls and says he has a few things ready for Tuesday when they come back as champions. Holland then wishes the rest of Chase U luck. Thea then says she is excited for Ridge. Chase then tells Duke to focus on winning tonight. Morant and Hudson then gives their thoughts on the WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match.

NXT General Manager Ava joins Sam Roberts and Megan Morant. Ava is asked about the energy of the wrestlers. Ava says it is a special night. Ava then says everyone on tonight’s show is looking to impress and show out. Ava then says she thinks that is what is going to happen. Ava then says the landscape of NXT can change tonight. Sam then asks if Ava regrets making the WWE NXT Champion Match a Fatal 4-Way Match. Ava says she does not and she stands by her decision. Ava then says everyone in the match deserves a title match. Ava then says it gives everyone a chance to showcase their abilities. Ava then says she thinks it will be an amazing match.

We then get a promo from Shawn Spears. Spears says he used to drive by the arena as an aspiring wrestler. Spears then says one day he would make it happen. Spears then says after two decades of patience and pain he believes. Spears then says tonight he has the opportunity to get what has eluded him. Spears then says he will win the NXT Championship and the young and impressionable talent will see the light and truth. Spears then says when he is NXT Champion they will believe.

WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams then walks through Toronto and says a piece of him should be honored because they all think they have a chance to get a title match. Williams then says he feels pissed off because everyone thinks they can take the title from him. Williams then says Evans belongs here, but the other two don’t deserve it. Williams then says they won’t get special treatment because they are in Canada. Williams then says he won’t lay down and give up his title.

Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show and we get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace vs. Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx

The match starts off with Grace and Jacy. Grace backs Jacy into the corner and Jacy hits a take down and a forearm. Jacy then mocks Grace and Grace hits a shoulder tackle and a slam. Karmen then tags in and Karmen hits a discus clothesline for a near fall. Karmen then hits some kicks on Nyx and she gets a near fall. Karmen then hits an Irish whip and knee into the corner. Grace then hits a shoulder in the corner. Grace then hits a suplex and elbow drop for a near fall. Grace then hits a forearm to the back. Karmen then tags in and chops Nyx. Nyx then hits an Irish whip and Karmen hits a jumping side kick out of the corner and a flying forearm for a near fall. Jacy then has some words for Karmen and Nyx hits Karmen from behind. Jacy then tags in and hits a neck breaker while Karmen does an O’Connor Roll on Nyx. Jacy then hits some punches and a back elbow for a near fall. Jacy then hits a running hip into the corner and Nyx chokes Karmen and hits a drop kick. Jacy then tags in and hits a cannonball for a near fall. Jacy then hits a seated abdominal stretch. Karmen then hits a rollup for a near fall. Jacy then hits a thrust kick on Karmen and Nyx tags in. They then go for a double suplex and hit it. Nyx then gets a near fall. Nyx then hits a figure four head scissors. Karmen then goes for a rollup for a near fall. Nyx then hits a clothesline and gets a near fall.

Jacy then tags in and Karmen lands on her feet on a double suplex attempt. Nyx then goes to the floor and Jacy stops Karmen, but Karmen kicks her away and Grace tags in. Grace then hits some elbows on Jacy and Nyx. Grace then hits some elbows on both Jacy and Nyx and a knee lift. Grace then hits an elbow off the turnbuckles to the back for a near fall. Jacy then hits a jaw breaker and Karmen tags in. Jacy then has a kick blocked and Grace holds Jacy for a jumping thrust kick Hart Attack for a near fall. Grace is then sent to the floor and Karmen misses a kick. Jacy then pulls Karmen to the mat and Nyx tags in. Nyx then trips Karmen and Jacy with a knee, but Grace breaks up the cover. Grace then hits a Codebreaker on Jacy, but Nyx kicks Grace. Nyx then hits an O’Connor Roll, but Grace pulls Nyx over and Karmen gets the three count.

We then see that Nathan Frazer finally shows up and Axiom asks where was he. Axiom then tells Frazer they have to be focused. Frazer then says he is locked in. Frazer then asks what the game plan is. Axiom then covers his face and says “ay dios mio.”

Roberts and Morant then discuss the WWE NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way Match and we get a video package on the match and the Countdown To WWE NXT Heatwave Kickoff Pre-Show comes to a close.

WWE NXT Heatwave Results (7/7/2024):

The show opens up with a video package. “All Ego” Ethan Page was then shown entering the arena from the parking lot. WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams was then shown hanging out with the fans in the arena entry line.

Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show and we get the entrances of the opening match of the PLE.

WWE NXT North American Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Wes Lee

The match starts off with Lee hitting a boot on Femi’s midsection. Lee then looks to hit a second one, but Femi catches Lee and trips him. Lee then delivers some right hands on Femi’s midsection, but Femi sends Lee in the corner and looks to hit a boot. Lee then moves out of the way and hits a kick, then follows it up with an enzuigiri off the ropes. Femi then hits Lee with an oblique breaker, then places Lee on the top rope before knocking him to the outside. Lee then quickly recovers and hits a missile dropkick on Femi back inside the ring. Femi then gets Lee up on his shoulders and sends him crashing into the mat.

The action then spills to the outside and Femi hits a right hand on Lee’s midsection. Femi then sends Lee crashing into the ring apron and under the ring, then gets back in the ring. The referee then begins a ten count, but Lee beats it. Femi then hits an uppercut on Lee in the corner and follows it up with a backbreaker. Femi then stands on Lee’s spine before he hits a stomp on it, then follows it up with another oblique breaker and a right hand on Lee’s spine. Femi then sends Lee into the corner, then charges at him. Lee then ducks out of the way and Femi is sent crashing into the ring post. Femi then clotheslines Lee on the apron, then follows it up with a chokeslam-backbreaker combination back in the ring. Femi then continues wearing down Lee’s previously injured spine, but Lee nails Femi with an enzuigiri and follows it up with a few right and left hands. Lee then hits a DDT on Femi and follows it up with a couple of tope suicidas on him on the outside, then looks to fly off the top rope. Femi then catches Lee, but Lee hits Femi with a hurricanrana and goes for a pin and Femi kicks out.

Lee then hits a meteora on Femi off the top rope, then looks to fly off it. Femi then intercepts Lee with an uppercut and goes for a pin, but Lee kicks out. Femi then gets Lee on his shoulders and climbs to the top rope, but Lee escapes and looks to hit a hurricanrana on Femi. Femi then blocks Lee and powerbombs him off the middle rope, but Lee nails Femi with the Kardiak Kick and goes for a pin and Femi kicks out. Lee then hits a Frog Splash off the ropes on Femi, but Femi clotheslines himself and Lee out of the ring. Lee then lands on the apron and looks to fly, but Femi nails Lee with a shoulder-breaker and gets him back inside the ring. Lee then nails Femi with a knee to the side of his head, then follows it up with a double stomp on his spine and looks to hit the Kardiak Kick. Femi then catches Lee, but Lee escapes and hits Femi with a thrust kick. Lee then once again looks for the Kardiak Kick, but Femi sees him coming and sends him crashing into the mat. Femi then hits Lee with a sit-out powerbomb for the win.

Separate shots were then shown of WWE NXT Women’s Champion “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez and Lola Vice arriving to the arena.

We then get a video package and the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Match.

WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship Match: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Sol Ruca

The match starts off with both women taking turns in trying to take each other down and locking in submissions on each other before Jordan hits a crossbody on Ruca out of the corner. Ruca then hits a drop toe hold on Jordan, but Jordan responds with a low crossbody. Ruca then hits a facebuster on Jordan, then puts her in a Bow and Arrow. Jordan then hits an arm drag on Ruca, then follows it up with a hurricanrana and flies over the top rope to land on her on the outside. Both women then get back inside the ring and Jordan hits Ruca with a facebuster. Ruca then hits a couple of crossbodies on Jordan and follows it up with a kick on her head before hitting her with a 450 Splash from the apron. Jordan and Ruca then exchange forearms with each other, but Jordan nails Ruca with a Pele Kick. Jordan then follows it up with a poisonrana and a springboard moonsault on Ruca on the outside, but Ruca responds with a kick on Jordan’s chest off the apron. Ruca then hits a moonsault on Jordan out of the corner and the referee begins a ten count. Both women then beat it and Ruca gets Jordan on her shoulders. Jordan then escapes and rolls up Ruca, but Ruca kicks out. Ruca and Jordan then take turns unsuccessfully pinning each other before Ruca hits a powerbomb on Jordan. Ruca then places Jordan on the top rope and joins her up there, but Jordan fights Ruca off and hits her with a 630 Splash. Ruca then gets Jordan in an electric chair position and Jordan looks to escape. Ruca then hangs on to Jordan and catapults her into the corner, then climbs to the top with her still in an electric chair position. Jordan then hits a poisonrana on Ruca, then follows it up with a split legged moonsault for the win.

After the match, Jordan helps Ruca up. Ruca then holds Jordan’s hand up as a show of respect and Jordan celebrates her win with the NXT Universe.

We then get a video from Gallus, where they were talking about Tyson DuPont and Tyriek Igwe brawling with them for weeks. Gallus talks about how Igwe and DuPont care more about social media, while they care more about fighting. Joe Coffey then says they will see Igwe and DuPont on Tuesday.

We then get a replay of Karmen Petrovic and Arianna Grace picking up the win in the Countdown To WWE NXT Heatwave Kickoff Pre-Show. We then see NXT General Manager Ava praising Petrovic and Grace for making a pretty good tag team. Grace says she is glad it worked out and if Petrovic were by herself it would have been catastrophic. Petrovic then says she picked up the win and they are a team. Grace then says she was the real MVP tonight and unfortunately this is the last time they’ll be teaming. Ava then books Grace and Petrovic in a match for Tuesday. Grace then says it is disgusting to pit two tag team partners against each other.

Lola Vice was then shown getting ready in the makeup room, while “All Ego” Ethan Page was shown taping up his wrists.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match.

WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Super Sonic Duo (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) (c) vs. Chase U (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson)

The match starts off with Axiom and Andre Chase. Both men take turns in locking each other in submission holds and pinning each other before Axiom hits Chase with a dropkick. Chase then pins Axiom, but Axiom kicks out. Chase then hits a dropkick on Axiom. Frazer then tags in and Chase hits him with a couple of arm drags. Duke Hudson then tags in and hits a belly-to-belly throw on Frazer. Chase then tags back in and double teams Frazer with Hudson. Axiom then tags in and double teams Chase with Frazer. Axiom then sends Chase crashing into the mat and tags in Frazer. Frazer then hits an enzuigiri on Chase and Axiom follows it up with a suplex. Axiom and Frazer then hit a double superkick on Chase. Frazer then wears Chase down with a submission hold, then trips him and tags Axiom back in. Axiom then locks in an ankle submission on Chase, but Chase looks to escape with an enzuigiri. Axiom then hangs on and cinches in a Knee Bar. Chase then escapes and sends Axiom crashing into the middle turnbuckle. Hudson and Frazer then tag in and Hudson runs over Frazer and Axiom with a couple of double clotheslines. Hudson then hits a chokeslam on Axiom, then sends Frazer crashing into the mat face first. Hudson then hits a gutbuster on Frazer, landing on top of Axiom in the process and pins Frazer. Frazer then kicks out and dropkicks Hudson out of the ring, but Hudson hits a belly-to-belly suplex on Frazer and looks to hit a Razor’s Edge. Frazer then counters with a hurricanrana that sends Hudson crashing into the corner.

Axiom then tags in and flies with Frazer to land on Chase U on the outside. Axiom then gets Hudson back in the ring and climbs to the top. Axiom then hits Hudson with a Frog Splash, then tags in Frazer. Frazer then flies off the top rope with a 450 Splash on Hudson. Axiom then looks to fly off the top rope, but Hudson gets his boots up. Hudson then hits a Sidewalk Slam on Frazer and goes for a pin, but Frazer kicks out. Frazer and Hudson then teeter on the top rope, but Frazer fights off Hudson and hits a missile dropkick on him. Axiom then tags in and places Hudson on the top rope with Frazer. Frazer then tags himself in and Axiom hits a Spanish Fly on Hudson. Frazer then follows it up with a Phoenix Splash on Hudson and goes for a pin, but Chase breaks the fall by hitting a Code Red on Axiom. Chase and Axiom then tag in and exchange right hands with each other. Chase then hits an enzuigiri on Axiom and a chop on Frazer. Frazer then looks to hit a kick on Chase, but accidentally hits Axiom. Hudson then takes Frazer down with a right hand and Chase rolls up Axiom, but Axiom kicks out. Frazer then dropkicks Hudson into the ring steps on the outside as Chase hits a Russian Leg Sweep on Axiom back in the ring. Chase then hits the Chase U stomps on Axiom, then climbs to the top and hits a crossbody. Chase then goes for a pin, but Frazer breaks the fall. Chase then sends Frazer out of the ring and looks to send Axiom crashing into the mat. Frazer then tags in and looks to fly off the top rope, but Chase sees him coming and climbs up the top rope. Frazer then joins him up there and hits him with a superplex. Axiom then tags in and double teams Chase with Frazer. Frazer then flies over the top rope to land on Hudson on the outside and Axiom hits Chase with the Golden Ratio inside the ring for the win.

We then head to the back, where Wes Lee vents his frustrations about being unable to dethrone Oba Femi as the NXT North American Champion and never getting to challenge for Femi’s title again as long as he is the champion. Lee says he’s at a loss for words and he needs some time to figure things out, then says he’ll see fans on this coming Tuesday’s episode of NXT.

We then get an ad for WWE NXT Great American Bash set to take place on August 6th on SyFy.

“The Young OG” Je’von Evans was then shown warming up backstage. We then see Shawn Spears sitting on a couch and staring blankly.

We then get a video package and the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match.

WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match: “The Prodigy” Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Lola Vice

The match starts off with Perez hitting an open palm strike on Vice and Vice responds by shoving Perez and locking in a submission hold on her. Vice then looks to hit a cross arm breaker on Perez, but Perez counters into a roll up. Vice then kicks out, then hits a mat return on Perez and sends her across the ring. Vice then looks to hit the 305 on Perez, but Perez rolls out of the ring to avoid it. Vice then flies off the apron to land on Perez, then gets her back inside the ring. Perez then sends Vice crashing into the middle turnbuckle and delivers some right hands on her, then sends her crashing into one of the other turnbuckles and stomps on her chest. Vice then sends Perez’s face repeatedly bouncing off the turnbuckles, but Perez responds with a hair whip on Vice and pulls on her hair. Perez then sends Vice into the corner, then follows it up with an uppercut and a Russian Leg Sweep. Perez then goes for a pin, but Vice kicks out.

Vice then hits a series of rapid fire kicks on Perez’s thighs, then follows it up with a Hip Attack and a scissors kick. Vice then hits a right hand on Perez’s midsection, but Perez responds with an uppercut. Vice then intercepts Perez and locks in a submission, but Perez counters into a pinfall to escape. Vice then locks in a Sleeper on Perez, but Perez rolls out of the ring and sends Vice crashing into the announce desk spine first to break the hold. Perez then sends Vice crashing into the ring post arm first and stomps on her hand before she nails her with a suplex. Perez and Vice then get back in the ring and Perez stomps on Vice’s injured arm. Perez then sends it bouncing off the mat and goes for a pin, but Vice kicks out. Perez then continues wearing down Vice’s arm and steps on it, but Vice responds with a kick on Perez. Perez then responds with a back suplex and looks to hit a back elbow, but Vice catches it and hits the 305, sending Perez crashing out of the ring.

Vice then gets Perez back in the ring and pins her, but Perez gets her boot on the bottom rope to break the fall. Vice then delivers some right hands on Perez, but Perez sends Vice crashing into the ring post shoulder first. Perez then looks to hit the Pop Rox on Vice, but Vice avoids the maneuver and delivers a few roundhouse kicks on Perez. Vice then looks to hit the 305, but Perez counters with the Pop Rox and goes for a pin. Vice then kicks out and Perez sends Vice out of the ring and clears the announce desk. Perez then gets Vice on top of it and hits her with the Pop Rox. Perez then sends Vice back in the ring and goes for a pin, but Vice somehow manages to kick out. Perez then delivers the Hammer and Anvil elbows on Vice’s arm and locks in a crossface, then hits her with three Pop Rox for the win.

We then get a replay of WWE Hall of Famer “The Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels inviting Brooks Jensen to NXT this Tuesday following the number of incidents involving Jensen.

We then get a video of Lexis King continuing to mock Eddy Thorpe’s choice in EDM music in favor of his choice in Rock and Roll music. King then announces that he will face “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo this coming Tuesday for his WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship.

We then get a video of “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo in his garden watering his fruits. D’Angelo says Luca Crucifino showed him the Lexis King video on how he is trying to take away the “Italian” Heritage Cup. D’Angelo then says it isn’t going to be a cakewalk to take the title. D’Angelo then says he is going to slap the fake beard off of King’s face and then come back to his garden to water his basil plants.

We then get a video package and the entrances of the main event, which is a WWE NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way Match.

WWE NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: Trick Williams (c) vs. “All Ego” Ethan Page vs. Shawn Spears vs. “The Young OG” Je’Von Evans

The match starts off with Page jumping out of the ring wanting to let Williams, Evans and Spears brawl amongst themselves. Evans then hits a tope suicida on Page to take him down on the outside as Williams and Spears brawl in the ring. Williams then hits a bodyslam on Spears and sends him crashing to the outside as Evans and Page exchange right hands with each other. Spears and Page then send Williams and Evans bouncing off the ring steps and return to the ring to form an alliance. Page and Spears then instantly turn on each other by hitting eye rakes on each other. Evans then nails Spears and Williams hits a neckbreaker on Page. Williams and Evans then show their respect for each other before Evans hits an arm drag on Williams and rolls him up. Williams then kicks out and Evans hits a dropkick on him. Evans then rolls Williams up once again, but Williams kicks out.

Williams then nails Evans with a clothesline and a bodyslam, but Spears looks to hit him with a chair. Williams then sees Evans coming and nails him with a leg lariat, then hits one on Page. Williams then hits a clothesline on Page and a double flapjack on Page and Spears. Evans then flies off the top rope to land on Spears and Page, but Williams hits Evans with a uranage. Page then hits a right hand on Evans and sends him crashing into Spears. Page then sends Evans into the corner and hits him with a right hand and places him on the top rope. Page then pulls Evans off the top and sends him crashing into Williams and Spears, then follows it up with a powerslam and goes for a pin. Evans then kicks out and Page climbs to the top, but Spears hits him with a couple of chops and joins him up there. Evans then knocks Spears off the ropes, but Williams gets Evans in an electric chair position. Williams then cinches in a headlock on Spears and Page flies off the top rope to land on everyone. Williams and Page then pins Spears and Evans respectively, but they both kick out. Williams and Page then exchange right hands, but Spears hits them both with his chair. Spears then looks to hit Evans with it, but Evans sees him coming. Evans then flies off the ropes, but Spears nails him with the chair. Spears then sets the chair up in the corner and looks to hit the C4 on Evans through it. Williams then saves Evans, but Spears hits him with the C4 onto the chair and goes for a pin and Williams kicks out.

Spears then gets Williams up on his shoulders, but Williams escapes. Spears then hits a superkick on Evans, but Page nails him with a kick of his own. Williams then takes Page down before he clears the announce desk and looks to send Page crashing through it with a flapjack. Page then delivers some right hands on Williams to escape and sends him crashing into the ring post, then sets up for Ego’s Edge. Williams then escapes and sends Page crashing into the ring post, then delivers some right hands on him. Evans then flies over the top rope and sends Williams crashing through the barricade near the timekeeper’s area. Spears then gets Evans on his shoulders on the middle rope and hits him with the C4. Page then sends Spears out of the ring and pins Evans, but Evans kicks out. Page then climbs to the top rope, but Spears trips him and hits him with a chop. Spears then joins Page on the ropes, but Williams pulls him down and both men are sent crashing out of the ring. Evans then hits a Spanish Fly on Page off the top, then follows it up with a cutter off the top and pins Page.

Williams then breaks the fall, then exchanges right hands with Evans. Both men then nail each other with kicks before Evans looks to fly off the top. Spears then trips him and drags Evans up to the top to join him. Evans then hits Spears with a neckbreaker, then follows it up with a Tornado DDT and goes for a pin. Williams then breaks the fall and Evans looks to fly from the apron. Williams then sees him coming and pushes him away, sending him crashing through the announce desk. Williams then looks to take down Spears, but Spears sees him coming and locks in a Sharpshooter. Page then breaks the hold, then follows it up with the Ego’s Edge on Williams and goes for a pin. Evans then breaks the fall by getting Williams’ foot on the bottom rope. Page then drags Evans into the ring and delivers some right hands on him. Page then looks to hit the Ego’s Edge on Evans, but Spears pulls Evans down. Williams then nails Spears and Evans with the Trick Shot, then hits one on Page. Page then falls on top of Evans to pin him and the referee counts to three before Williams can break the fall.

After the match, Ethan Page gloats and poses with the WWE NXT Championship. We then get a clip of Joe Hendry’s entrance video and the show comes to a close.
