Adam Copeland has become a prime fixture for AEW ever since joining the company last year following his spectacular debut at WrestleDream. Following a recent setback, Copeland is on a determined journey to return to in-ring action and had some positive news to share regarding the same.

The Rated-R superstar defended his TNT Title against Malakai Black in a brutal Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match at the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, which was one of the most physically tormenting encounters in the history of the company.

During the match, Adam Copeland performed an elbow drop from the top of the cage, landing awkwardly on his legs, and crashed down onto Black, who was positioned on a table. It was later that he fractured his tibia, which he initially did not realize, and underwent surgery, which was success despite some complications.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Copeland provided a positive update on his recovery process. The former WWE champion stated that his doctor believed his bones were healthy after successful surgery, and this being his seventh time having surgery for the same injury, he was well-versed in the rehabilitation process.

“My Achilles tear a few years ago led to my most difficult rehab, and I’m expecting more of that. I’m 50. I know what’s in front of me. But the surgery was successful, and the doctor was optimistic because my bones are healthy. It’s my seventh surgery, so I know the drill. We’ll see how my body cooperates.”

Despite the challenges ahead, Adam Copeland remains optimistic about his recovery and eventual return to the ring. So we will have to wait and see when he recovers and makes his return to AEW in the future.
