The arrival of Mercedes Mone in AEW has undeniably left a significant mark on the promotion’s landscape. As prominent figure in the history of the Jacksonville-based organization, Mone swiftly ascended to stardom within the company. Interestingly, she received clearance for in-ring competition last year, adding to the anticipation surrounding her return.

Mercedes Mone’s impending return to the ring at AEW Double or Nothing, where she will face off against Willow Nightingale, holds immense significance for both her and the promotion. Despite being absent from in-ring action since May 21, 2023, following an ankle injury sustained during a match against Nightingale at NJPW Resurgence, Mone’s debut at AEW Dynamite Big Business in March has generated considerable excitement. Now, over a year since her last match and two months since her AEW debut, Mone’s highly anticipated return promises to be a highlight of AEW Double or Nothing.

According to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, it was reported that Mercedes Mone received medical clearance to make her return to the squared circle in December of last year.

“She was medically cleared to wrestle in December and believes she’s in the best shape of her life for her AEW debut.”
