The main event for this week’s WWE NXT showcased Charlie Dempsey of the No Quarter Catch Crew defending his NXT Heritage Cup against the charismatic leader of the D’Angelo family, Tony D’Angelo. D’Angelo picked up the win and then celebrated his massive victory with Shawn Michaels.

The match followed the standard format of the NXT Heritage Cup, featuring a high-stakes contest with Tony D’Angelo accompanied by his family at ringside while Charlie Dempsey competed alone.

The showdown was thrilling from the start, with D’Angelo gaining early momentum by scoring the first pinfall in Round 1. However, Dempsey quickly retaliated, securing the next pinfall and tying the match after several time-limit draws in the previous rounds.

As the match entered the fifth round, interference from No Quarter Catch Crew members Damon Kemp and Myles Borne couldn’t prevent the inevitable. Despite their efforts, Charlie Dempsey’s reign ended when Tony D’Angelo scored the decisive pinfall, becoming the new NXT Heritage Cup Champion. The show ended with a massive celebration by D’Angelo and his family.

WWE took to their official Instagram and uploaded a video of Tony D’Angelo after his massive win, as he celebrated with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who was clearly proud of him.

”This has been a long time coming for @tonydangelo_wwe 🙌”

We will have to wait and see how Tony D’Angelo will be booked as the NXT Heritage Cup Champion, as it is clear Charlie Dempsey and the rest of the faction aren’t done with him yet.
