The WWE’s Viking Raiders have notably been missing from WWE television as a duo for a considerable period. This absence stems from a specific reason: Erik, one half of the Viking Raiders, is currently grappling with health issues. Meanwhile, the company has been prioritizing the singles career of Ivar, focusing on his individual success within the promotion.

Erik underwent C6/C7 neck fusion surgery last year and has been in the process of recovery ever since. He even decided to begin stem cell treatment to help with his recovery.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Ivar talked about his fellow Viking Raider Erik’s recovery progress. He noted that the recovery is slow and steady but he is doing well and is gradually progressing.

“It’s slow and steady. It’s a neck injury. I had a neck injury a few years ago. Necks are weird. We all know with Big E, his neck was weird. It’s a matter of how you heal and recover. “He is doing great, but it’s slow and steady. It’s a matter of time before he is back.”

Erik’s last wrestling match took place on the September 14th, 2023 episode of WWE Main Event, recorded on September 11th. Despite being slated to compete on the September 18th episode of WWE RAW, he was unable to do so. The exact timeline for Erik’s return to the wrestling ring remains uncertain as he continues on his path to recovery.
