Shelton Benjamin is one of the most respected names in the professional wrestling industry currently. The former WWE superstar has a ton of experience in the ring and is bound to hand his boots very soon. However, that day hasn’t arrived yet. The power and work attitude of the star is enough for him to lace his boots up again and get some hard-hitting action rolling.

Since his release from WWE, Benjamin has been associated with AEW. With his association, speculations of him joining the company as a full-time wrestler have been making rounds on the internet. WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross addressed the speculations and stated that Benjamin would be great fit for a place like AEW earlier.

However, not everyone would give a warm welcome to the veteran in AEW. Max Caster, on a recent appearance on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet, took shots at the former WWE superstar. Caster stated that he didn’t want Benjamin to take his TV time.

“What’s he going to do? Take up my TV time? One thing I learned when I was getting signed to AEW, I got a call from QT Marshall, who I love and respect because he’s a great wrestler and he’s very honest…he called me up and he’s like ‘Tony wants you to come in’.’ I go, ‘Is this a joke? I don’t know. He goes, ‘Look, I’m a wrestler, I’d prefer it if you didn’t come here and work because you’d be taking a spot that I want.’ I go, ‘That was some s**t.'”

While Max Caster has already expressed his desire to see Shelton Benjamin away from AEW, that might not be the case. The veteran getting signed by AEW wouldn’t be a big surprise, which might be the last run Benjamin has as an in-ring performer.
