Cody Rhodes has ascended to the pinnacle of WWE as the newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania XL, dethroning the dominant Roman Reigns for the title to ‘Finish The Story.’

With his victory, Rhodes now has been positioned as the cornerstone of SmackDown, seamlessly transitioned from Raw to become the brand’s marquee attraction, while Reigns has opted for a hiatus from the squared circle and is currently involved in the world of film, leaving his return uncertain. Furthermore, WWE has tantalizingly hinted at a future showdown between Cody Rhodes and his other arch-rival, The Rock, with WrestleMania 41 speculated as the stage for their monumental clash.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer indicated that while future rivalries with Reigns and The Rock are on the horizon, there are no immediate major storylines planned for the next few months, despite one big star and Rhodes’ ally and old rival, Randy Orton being on the active roster.

“Rhodes has no real big-time direction until Rock and Roman Reigns are back in the picture. The other biggest star on the brand is Randy Orton, but they’re doing nothing to tease anything in that direction.”
