WWE Universe is set to witness a true dream match at their upcoming PLE, WWE Backlash France in Lyon as the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against AJ Styles.

The Phenomenal One won the right to become the No.1 contender to Rhodes’ title after defeating his heated rival, LA Knight in a WrestleMania rematch. While Styles lost at The Show of Shows, he redeemed himself by beating LA Knight with a huge opportunity hanging in the balance.

Just one week before they square off in a monumental encounter, Styles and Rhodes met each other on tonight’s edition of SmackDown for the official contract signing of the match officiated by Corey Graves.

AJ Styles began by mentioning Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes, whom Styles had a deep respect, for and also outlined the similar paths they had. He also acknowledged letting LA Knight get inside his head leading to his aforementioned defeat, but his realisation helped in earning the title shot. Rhodes also made it clear that he would give it all in the dream encounter and continue to remain a champion. With the war of words done, both men signed the contract and shook each other’s hand in respect.

However, as the segment concluded, Styles made a huge statement that while he thought Cody finishing the story was a beautiful sight, it would be sad to see his title reign end so soon at the hands of the Phenomenal One.
