Cameron Grimes Claims Being a ‘Hunter Guy’ Hurt Him During Power Struggle with Vince McMahon

Last week, WWE fans were met with disappointment as the company announced a new round of talent releases. This latest wave saw several notable stars let go, including Xyon Quinn, Jinder Mahal, Von Wagner and then, Cameron Grimes. Grimes has now revealed how being a Triple H supporter hurt him during Triple H’s power struggle with Vince McMahon.

During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Grimes spoke about the internal power struggle within WWE, which had a significant impact on many stars. According to Grimes, Triple H and Vince McMahon were in a power struggle within WWE and were in conflict with each other around this time last year. He mentioned that when he entered the scene, Triple H was not in charge, and Vince McMahon still held considerable power.

Grimes explained that for wrestlers favored by Triple H, the period was challenging as they joined the main roster. McMahon tended to support his own group, leading to limited opportunities for those aligned with Triple H. As a result of this power dynamic, Grimes indicated that many such stars found it difficult to find their place on the roster during this time.

“What happened was, as soon as I got brought up there, was the struggle between the two. Hunter wasn’t really in charge yet. Vince was still kinda in charge. There was still that battle going on between them. You were either a Hunter guy or a Vince guy. At the time, Vince was still in charge, being a Hunter guy didn’t really help you that much, during that period.”
