It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! The Spring Breakin’ Night One episode of WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the April 23, 2024 episode.

WWE NXT Spring Breakin’ Night One Results (4/23/2024):

The show opens up with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and NXT General Manager Ava having a discussion about tonight. They put over how tonight is a big night and they also briefly discuss the draft. NXT General Manager Ava says that while people are looking forward to moving up to RAW and Smackdown, they are also looking forward to who steps up in NXT to replace those leaving.

Various shots were then shown of NXT Superstars arriving to the WWE Performance Center.

Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show and we get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is the WWE NXT Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match.

WWE NXT Women’s Championship Triple Threat Match: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tatum Paxley

The match starts off with Roxanne Perez attacking Lyra Valkyria early on. Perez was then freaked out by Tatum Paxley’s creepy crawl. Lyra then tripped both women and sent them to the outside. Lyra then hits both women with a wrecking ball dropkick. Lyra then hits Paxley with a springboard crossbody. Lyra then nails Tatum with a slap and a shotgun dropkick. Perez then breaks up Lyra’s pin after a Northern Lights Suplex on Tatum. Lyra then hits Perez with a Northern Lights for a near fall. Lyra and Tatum then trades rollups. Lyra then sends Perez to the outside. Lyra then rolls Tatum up for a near fall. Perez then sends Lyra to the outside. Paxley then hits Perez with a crossbody for a near fall. Paxley then sends Perez on top of Lyra on the outside.

All three women are now trading strikes. Lyra escapes a fireman carry and hits Paxley with a Fisherman Buster for a near fall, but Perez breaks that up. Perez then tosses both women in the corners and nails them with uppercuts. Perez then puts Lyra in a Crossface. Tatum then breaks up the submission with a Crossface on Perez. Perez then hits both opponents with a DDT. Perez then hits Tatum with Eat Defeat. Lyra then breaks up the pin. Lyra then misses a Crescent Kick and reverses Perez into a German Suplex. Perez then hits Lyra with a high kick. Lyra then hits Perez with a Crescent Kick. Tatum then hits a Sunset Flip for a near fall. Tatum then hits Lyra with a Pumphandle Murphy’s Law. Tatum then hits Lyra with a 450. Perez then gets the win with a jackknife roll up cover on Tatum.

We then see various wrestlers and executives give their predictions for the Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams WWE NXT Championship Match.

We then head to the back, where Thea Hail, Fallon Henley and Kelani Jordan were chatting. Thea says she was happy to have Chase U’s money problems behind them and she is also happy to have friends like Fallon and Kelani. OTM’s Jaida Parker then shows up and talks trash, saying that Fallon is a loner. Fallon then shoves Jaida and a brawl ensues.

A video vignette then airs hyping up the arrival of newcomers Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe to NXT, who are set to debut next Tuesday.

Julius Creed, Brutus Creed and Ivy Nile were then interviewed by Kelly Kincaid about why they are in NXT for the night. They all gave their thoughts on Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams and hope that Williams will win. Ivy Nile then started a Whoop That Trick chant and Brutus did the “uh huh” and “oh yeah man” lines. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then jokes that he gonna whoop that ass for what just happened.

Vic Joseph then hypes up NXT Battleground at the UFC Apex facility.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a 6-Man Tag Team Match.

6-Man Tag Team Match: The D’Angelo Family (“The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino) vs. NXT Heritage Cup Champions No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Damon Kemp and Myles Borne)

Before the match officially begins, all six men brawl. Dempsey and D’Angelo are then left in the ring. Dempsey then hits D’Angelo with a strike and D’Angelo responds with a tackle on Dempsey. D’Angelo then hits a suplex on Dempsey. D’Angelo then tells the NQCC that this is what happens when you don’t pay me my money. Kemp and Dempsey then double team D’Angelo. D’Angelo then manages to tag Stacks in. Stacks then lands a few strikes. Luca is then tagged in and he delivers some rights and lefts. Kemp then hits Luca with a suplex. The NQCC then takes turns working over Luca. D’Angelo and Stacks then rush in and all six men begin brawling again.

The D’Angelo Family stands tall in the ring and the fight then spills to the outside. Kemp then dives off the apron and flattens everyone with a senton. Dempsey is then working over Stacks and Borne and Kemp hit a dropkick/German suplex combo on Stacks. Dempsey is then back in working over Stack’s knee. Dempsey then puts Stacks in a single-leg crab. Stacks then manages to break the hold and tag D’Angelo in. D’Angelo then clears the ring. D’Angelo then sets up for the finish, but Kemp chop blocks him to break up the move. Borne and Kemp then hit their finish on D’Angelo. Stacks and Luca then hit the Shatter Machine on Borne. D’Angelo then hits Dempsey with a spinebuster and gets the win.

After the match, D’Angelo screams at the NQCC about paying him his money.

We then head to the back, where Baron Corbin was interviewed about what Bron Breaker is going to say once he gets called up. Corbin says he wasn’t sure. Lexis King then shows up and gives Corbin a gift basket for leaving NXT. Corbin says people are only hoping he is leaving. Lexis then says he is proud to be Corbin’s next 2nd generation tag team partner. Lexis then leaves assuming they were a team now. Corbin then calls Lexis a toolbag and says his beard is fake.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: OTM’s Jaida Parker vs. Fallon Henley

The match starts off with Henley dominating Parker and taking her down with a drop toe hold. Henley then gets a near fall after a scissor roll up, but Parker kicks out. Henley then tries an up and over in the corner, but Parker catches Henley and drops her on the top rope. Parker then puts Henley on the second rope and hits her with the running hip drop. Parker then works over Henley. Henley then fires up and hits Parker with a headbutt. Henley then nails Parker with a flurry of elbow strikes. Henley then hits Parker with a modified slingblade, but Parker kicks out. After a standing switch, Parker pushes Henley into the ropes. Henley then bounces off into a tear drop hip attack from Parker and Parker gets the win.

We then head to the back, where Jacy Jayne was cutting a promo on Chase U’s Thea Hail as she was standing next to Jasmyn Nyx. Jayne started to talk trash about how Hail should be appreciative of the advice she gave her. Jayne then says Hail is ungrateful, then hyped up her match with Hail next week.

A video package was then shown hyping up the Lola Vice vs. Natalya NXT Underground Match for next week. Separate shots were then shown of Lola Vice and the duo of Natalya and Karmen Petrovic walking backstage.

We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh about his prediction for the Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams WWE NXT Championship Match. JD says he has faced Ilja more than anyone and the strategy to beat him is to injure him. JD then says he doesn’t think Trick can do that, so he thinks Ilja will win. After JD leaves, New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate) enters and Dunne predicts Ilja will win, while Tyler predicts Trick will win.

NXT General Manager Ava is already in the ring for the NXT Underground contract signing between Lola Vice and Natalya. Ava starts off by doing introductions and calling the contract signing historic. Natalya and Karmen Petrovic then make their entrance first and Natalya signs the contract. Lola Vice then makes her entrance next and Vice signs the contract and the match is now official. Natalya then demands to know who was in Lola’s corner. Lola then dodges the question and says that while she can shake her ass, she can also kick ass. Lola then says she will break Natalya next week. Natalya then says she can see Lola’s ego. Natalya then says she respects that Lola fought in the Cage, but Lola doesn’t respect that Natalya came from the Hart Family Dungeon. Natalya then says if Lola can’t respect the past, she is going to beat respect in Lola. A “she’s the BOAT” chant then starts.

Natalya then tells Lola to bring everything she has because she is going to tap Lola’s ass out. Lola then says she has the fastest hands in the division and her corner woman will make those hands even faster. Former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler then makes her entrance. A “welcome back” chant then starts. Shayna then grabs the mic and says that Nattie’s chances went from slim to none. Shayna then says the most dangerous fighter in NXT has aligned with the baddest woman in WWE. Shayna then says Nattie needs to tear up her contract to avoid this match. Shayna then shoves Karmen Petrovic. Karmen then knocks Shayna out with a spinning roundhouse. Natalya and Karmen then sends Lola and Shayna to the outside to end the segment.

Ridge Holland was then interviewed in the parking lot. He says he is going to try to show people he can win the right way. Shawn Spears then shows up and says it looks like Ridge actually believes what he is saying. Spears then says that Holland needs to embrace it and let it out. Holland then says that is not going to work and he’ll be seeing Spears later.

A backstage promo then airs with The Final Testament. Karrion Kross talks about being a former two time NXT Champion. Kross then says they are going to take everyone to the good old days where he and The Authors of Pain were dominating everyone. Paul Ellering then says The Final Testament are coming after all titles. Akam then says they are bringing destruction back to NXT. Rezar then says Axiom and Frazer need to prepare. Scarlett then says thus say The Final Testament.

WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer were then shown in the locker room watching the promo and says that The Final Testament can’t just do that. Malik Blade then agrees. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows then says they are tired of all these teams taking spots in NXT. Edris Enofe was about to speak up, but then broke a mirror over Gallow’s shoe. Edris then decides to hold back his comments. Vic Joseph then talks about how this might give Edris bad luck.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Beach Brawl.

Beach Brawl: Sol Ruca vs. Blair Davenport

The match starts off with Davenport charging at Ruca and getting hit in the head with a surfboard that Ruca brought with her. Ruca and Davenport then trade shots. Davenport then sends Ruca into a park bench, but Ruca gets to her feet. Davenport then sends Ruca into the ring post. Ruca then hits Davenport with an x-factor into a ball pit. Ruca then drops a surfboard on Davenport and surfs. Ruca then fires up and hits Davenport with a front flip into a basement dropkick. Ruca then hits Davenport with a standing moonsault, but Davenport kicks out. After an exchange of superkicks, Ruca hits Davenport with a powerbomb and Davenport kicks out. Ruca then goes for the Soul Snatcher, but Davenport counters with a German suplex. The fight then spills out of the ring. Ruca then goes for a cartwheel DDT on the barricade, but Davenport pushes Ruca into the barricade. Davenport then puts Ruca in a sleeper, but Ruca jumps off the barricade through a picnic table. Davenport then crawls into the ring, but Ruca hits Davenport with the Soul Snatcher for the win.

Trick Williams was then shown chatting with his mom, who had to go to the hospital. His mom says the doctor was saying she is getting better. Trick then says he is going to fight hard tonight and he wants his mom to trick. She then says she will and she tells Trick to Whoop Dat Trick. After Trick’s mom hung up, Johnny Gargano shows up to chat with Trick. Trick says the pressure is on more tonight due to him possibly leaving NXT if he loses. Gargano then says there is no diamonds without pressure. Gargano then says he knows Trick had already lost to Ilja, but Trick has been through so much since that loss. Gargano then says Trick needs to take that loss, that pain, all that betrayal and use it. Gargano then says it’s not a burden, but a weapon. Gargano then says that makes Trick a new Trick and Ilja hasn’t beaten that Trick. Gargano then says when he won the NXT Title it changed his life, but he had to give every ounce of his life to do that. Gargano then asks Trick if he is willing to give that to slay the mad dragon and win the NXT Championship. Trick then stands up and says he is ready. Gargano then tells Trick to go Whoop Dat Trick. Gargano and Trick then bump fists to end the segment.

A twitter video was then shown of Meta-Four having car problems on their way to the show. Oro Mensah was then shown still being sour over constantly getting doors slapped in his face by Oba Femi and we get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Baron Corbin vs. Lexis King

The match starts off with Corbin tossing King all over the ring. King then hits Corbin with a dropkick to his knee. King then delivers some strikes on Corbin and Corbin gets to his feet. King then works over Corbin’s knee and follows it up with a dropkick. Corbin then bounces off the ropes and almost decapitates King with a lariat. King then goes for a pin on Corbin with his feet on the ropes and the referee catches him. Corbin then hits a DVD on King and King kicks out. King then distracts the referee and low blows Corbin. The referee doesn’t see it. King then hits Corbin with the Coronation for the win.

A video package is then shown hyping up the upcoming Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams WWE NXT Title Match.

The lineup for next week’s NXT Spring Breakin’ Night Two was then announced.

Sarah Schreiber was then shown interviewing WWE NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov about his final thoughts for the match. Ilja says Trick has gained his respect, but all he has in his life is his family and championship. Ilja then says he is going to prove that he is unbesiegbar. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest then shows up and wishes Ilja luck. Ilja then leaves and Priest puts his arm around Sarah’s shoulder and asks her how she is doing.

Byron Saxton was then shown interviewing Trick Williams. Trick says either he wins tonight or leaves NXT for good. Trick then says he will prove himself right or wrong, but either way he is going to fight. Trick then says he fears no man and like his momma just said let’s whoop dat trick.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is the WWE NXT Championship Match.

WWE NXT Championship Match (If Williams Loses, He Must Leave NXT For Good): “The Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Trick Williams

The match starts off with Ilja taking Williams down and hitting him with forearms to the back of his neck. Trick and Ilja then trade kicks. Ilja then delivered some right hands on Trick. Trick then responds with right hands of his own. Ilja then reverses a spinebuster from Trick into a DDT. Ilja then hits Trick with a Constantine Special for a two count. Both men then but heads and share a big hug. The hug then suddenly turns into forearms. Ilja then hits Trick with a stiff knee and then fires up the crowd.

Trick and Ilja then falls from the top rope. Ilja recovers and hits Trick with a kick and a powerbomb. Ilja then hits Trick with a boot on the bottom rope. Ilja then hits Trick with a Coast to Coast, but Trick kicks out at two. Trick then reverses a dropkick into a neckbreaker and the crowd starts a Whoop Dat Trick chants. Trick then hits Ilja with a powerbomb. Trick then hits Ilja with an H Bomb for a near fall. Ilja then yells Unbesiegbar and hits Trick with a Torpedo Moscow. Ilja then hits Trick with a few jump kicks and a Death Valley Driver in the corner. A “This is Awesome” chant then starts and Ilja clears the announce table.

Trick then hits Ilja with a Book End through the announce table. Ilja then puts Trick on the apron and climbs to the top rope. Ilja then hits Trick with a Deadlift Superplex. Ilja then hits Trick with an H Bomb. Ilja then hits Trick with a Super H Bomb, but Trick kicks out at two. Ilja then hits Trick with another Super H Bomb. After recovering, Ilja pins Trick for another near fall. Ilja then hits Trick with a German Suplex. Trick then hits Ilja with a knee to the back of his neck for a near fall. Trick and Ilja then get up. Trick then blocks a Torpedo Moscow from Ilja with a Trick Knee and gets the win.

The winner and new WWE NXT Champion, Trick Williams!

After the match, Ilja Dragunov hands Trick Williams the WWE NXT Championship and both men hug. Trick Williams then celebrates his win in the ring, stands on the ropes, then continues his celebration with the fans as the show comes to a close.
